Martinez is driving fans away I sit in the Park End and there was 2 empty seats in front of me, 3 next to me on my left and 2 on my right and plenty of others spread around..

Full quote after being asked if this was a defining week at Everton.

"Of course. Every team has a defining week. We are going to have a defining week in mid April. Other teams have defining weeks in February when they are out of the FA Cup"

Do you have the snippert where he goes on about football is not about the manager

Christ, Klopp wouldn't have come here, stop deluding yourselves.

Benitez went to Newcastle. Nothing is off limits now. The fluid nature of the prem is allowing managers opportunities to boost their CV in a way other leagues don't.

If you manage a top club abroad you'll be fired within a few years unless you're winning trebles. If you're not managing a top club you're not winning anything. Ranieri can come to England and wok the league, Pochettino can get top 4, both with clubs outside of the usual top 4. Liverpool Newcastle Spurs and now us all have investment to mean that if they put together the right group of players and manager they could do something. That will start to attract managers now.

Last season killed me. This season, i have barely been arsed after like the first 10 games when nothing appeared to have changed.

Well it wern't the first 10 games what did it for me....It was the next 10. Of them first 10, eight of them were against sides that finished top 8.

The next 10 games were the time to kick on. Instead, we went even further back. And we've had gradually less to look forward to since.

I was just vaulted for a thread posted on here after we beat arsenal to go 4th with 5 games to go in martinez's first season.

And god it breaks my heart reading that now. We were all so confident that we'd found the right manager, we all rated him so highly. There were even people who honestly thought he'd win us the league. We were on the up, we had a bright future, we were buzzing at the ground, excited to go to goodison, we loved and trusted our coach.

And now look at us.

Heh, we all want to dream. If the next manager gets off to a flier we'll all be dreaming again. Better that than being miserable gits without an ounce of positivity in them !

youre not the only one. it took me long time to admit it that we need a change.

I remember under Moyes, knowing he wasn't what would take us to the next level, but being accepting of the security he brought us under the board at that time. The last season or so tested that acceptance though. But under Martinez, after seeing the potential of the team and the fact that it wouldn't take too much to get a lot more from the players, I lost my faith in him last season really around Christmas time. I've never wanted the club to be trigger happy, but even at that point it was clear he wasn't learning from mistakes.

I would say in that first season, around 90% at least believed he could, or even had, got us to that next level. Alas, it hasn't happened, and 2 and a half years is more than enough time for that to be realised in this day and age.

at some point the squad lost trust in him...and actually i think it has happened long time ago.
