We won't really 'lose' a EL spot, it's more a case of one of them is upgraded to a CL spot. We will have 7 teams in European competitions next season no matter what the permutations. Either 4 in CL and 3 in EL, or 5 in CL and 2 in EL

I don't think that is right Lee and I will tell you why.

If the RS were to finish in say 10th place and win the EL they will still go to the CL.

But the 7th place team in England will go th the EL.....so long as United win the Cup.

If they don't win it, then only the 5th and 6th placed team will go to the EL, plus whichever of the other three teams lift the Cup, hopefully EFC.

The CL place for the EL winners is engineered so that it goes into the former as a representative of UEFA as it were, and it does not effect the European qualification of other teams in their country.

In short, LFC would not be going into Europe under the auspices of the F.A. as is the normal way but as a UEFA invitee.

Now, that is not to say there will be a place for the 8th placed team in our original hypothesis, just that I don't believe we are limited to seven teams competing in Europe.

Don't worry if you can't make head or tail of that......I can barely do so my own self

Yeah I think I understand what you're saying mate, you may very well be right in that scenario. I've been wrong once before (I think it was a Thursday lol).

They are a rep of the association now, that provision went after liverpool 05/06.

Regardless of what city do if liverpool win the Europa league but qualify for the Europa through the league then we lose a place. (Like Spain this season)

If they don't qualify another way then it's an extra European place

Looking forward to the summer now. Got the Euros with more home nations than normal. Hopefully a brand spanking new Everton manager who can take us forward. And Moshiri throwing his wallet around buying all the players. Cant wait.

how is martinez a potentially very good manager.

he's had nearly ten years to prove he's a 'good manager' and hasn't.

That's like saying a 30 year old striker still has potential, after years of being average.

That day in April 2014 when we thumped Arsenal at Goodison 3 nill.We all thought we had the manager who would bring us back to the big time.We were in the driving seat for 4th place as well after that win. It's been all downhill ever since though.Once the excuses from the cheerleaders came in earlier this season about the opening run of fixtures being too hard after another slow start to the season.I just said to myself another season of mediocrity it is then.I think most of us knew there and then that the Martinez regime was a busted flush.
