Look at the bounce Valencia have had since Neville left.
Don't like the manager, don't perform.

Best thing for all is he either leaves tonight tomorrow or the players are told he's off in summer.

We can win the cup with or without this manager.
this still bothers me even when it's not at Everton, it was fun to laugh at Chelsea and Mourhino when the players "downed tools" but it really is a bit shameful if you think about it. Obviously it's part of the managers job to get them going but the players aren't robots, they're professionals who should take pride in their job and still put effort in regardless of who the manager is. Absolutely no accountability on players anymore

He really isn't

He was caught using fake reviews to big up his down market productions
"And I would have got away with it too had it not been for those pesky kids..."

Think that's only top 3 and City though. The 5th place can only come from the EL and not the CL winners.
You've lost me a bit there mate. Basically...
This season's CL and EL winners qualify for next season's CL, no matter what. If both these competitions are won by English teams outside this season's top 4, then only 1st 2nd and 3rd in the league will get CL entry as there is a maximum of 5 teams from any one country allowed.

If only City OR Liverpool win their European competition this season, then top 4 in this season's league are guaranteed CL football next season

Pretty sure FA cup runner ups no longer get European qualification no matter what. Also in answer to @Khalekan's question I'm pretty sure 8th wouldn't get a EL slot

You are right about the Cup runner up not getting in.

So if you are right about 8th not getting in, do we lose a place in the EL next year if the scenario I outlined materialises?

But are they really? Let's analyze our strongest starting 11:

Robles- OK there's room for improvement but a decent/average keeper
Baines- One of the best full backs in the world
Jags/Stones- England internationals, one of them touted to be the best English defender since Ferdinand
Coleman- A good right back, best in the prem attacking wise

Barry- seasoned veteran who still dictates the midfield
McCarthy- a bit over rated in my opinion but a decent midfielder
Barkley- touted to be one of the best midfielders since Gazza- really a unique player

Mirallas- brilliant player, ruined by Martinez
Rom- wanted by Bayern, Juve
Del- great player, seems to have gotten lazy and doesn't give a crap anymore

That to me is a top 5 squad on paper. That's not including Lennon, Besic, Mori and the youth coming up.
Baines is no longer that good and Coleman is a bit meh at attacking these days, McCarths crap, front four are inconsistent performance wise

This has to be one of the most shockingly wrong posts I've ever read on this forum.

Mate right now I'm willing to do anything to get Martinez sacked. I know that was a delusional post, but nonetheless we are underachieving far too much. That was just me getting desperate.

We won't really 'lose' a EL spot, it's more a case of one of them is upgraded to a CL spot. We will have 7 teams in European competitions next season no matter what the permutations. Either 4 in CL and 3 in EL, or 5 in CL and 2 in EL
