You know what, Block?

I am going to tell you sommat here.

If the seventy two hours from Hell materialises as most on here believe it will, I am not going to point one finger of blame at Bobby.

It won't be his fault.

The man should have been taken out of the firing line at least a week ago.

If he leads us to perdition over the next eight days my anger will be directed at the boardroom, which appears to be caught like a rabbit in the headlights of an oncoming juggernaut.

Was thinking on the same lines myself today. If Saturday is as toxic as we are kind of expecting then surely Moshiri wont be wanting fans turning on the board so early into his reign. Because slowly but surely the anger will switch to them.

I think the pre Moshiri board would have fitted this description in today's position, but I can't stress enough the difference post Moshiri's involvement. Change is happening, we just have to see the season out.

I appreciate that Esk and I know there is zero chance of Bobby starting next season.

That makes it all the more infuriating to me that the bullet isn't bitten right now to give us at least a fighting chance at Anfield and Wembley :(

At this stage we have nothing to lose appointing an interim manager IMO

Completely nailed it mate. For the past month or so, while I've been looking forward to watching the football on the weekends, I struggle to want to watch Everton. Is it saying something the most interesting part about tomorrow is not the result, but the reception Martinez will get?

Haven't felt like this for years, since I completely turned off from footy in the 2000-01 season. Need some heart quickly, ultimately a change at the end of the season at the very latest. Otherwise, the little bit of feel good factor will drain from the club over the summer, as well as our top players!

If he is still at the club next season, can you imagine the pre season fume levels, it really doesn't even bear thinking about. The press would have a field day and the club would become a laughing stock before a ball was even kicked. Quite simply he can't be allowed to remain at the club once the season has finished.

Absolutely spot on Khal.
And if the ruthless theatre impresario isn't willing to do what is so painfully, obviously necessary, then Mr.Moshiri needs to put his far better heeled foot down with a very firm and heavy hand.

That would have been my preference too, because I thought it represented the best chance of success, clearly the board are giving him the chance to finish the season, hopefully still with silverware.

Maybe the contract he signed after the first season, (christ, that sounds ages ago now), contained clauses based on PL finishes etc? So if he was canned now, costs us a few bob, but end of season, below, say, 10th, and its a simple adieu.

Esk I think this is spot on, but I also think that are we are not getting relegated, we have a big week coming up and unless we had a replacement to come straight into the club and settle in before hand then as mad as it sounds we are better off with Martinez until the end of the season or the end of our cup run, it may hurt at times and be frustrating but at least the players know how Martinez will want to play and therefore not have to adapt to another managers tactics. The positive is that it would sound like plans are afoot to make some serious changes come the end of the year to move us forward in a positive way.

I listened to Ranieri's press conference earlier and I'm struck by the difference between his and Roberto's. I thought about it a little more and actually there's a strong correlation between how the press conference is conducted and how a team plays. Roberto's press conferences have got increasingly disjointed, the messages muddled and unclear interspersed with often delusional views on performances, yet Ranieri's are the complete opposite, meaningful, informed, structured, everything he says has a positive meaning. One assumes each manager manages and communicates in a similar way as to how they conduct their press conferences - the results are quite obvious.

Alex Ferguson believes Winning the Press Conference is crucial no matter what happens on the pitch
