Same thing mate - as much as we dislike our neighbours they didn't give up last night. I get the impression if we go a goal down tomorrow all hell will break loose hardly a confidence boost for the week ahead. For one week lets give everything we have got - we might just surprise ourselves.

The mood I am in I say let the heavens fall.

Moyes dourness took over us, the entire perception from the media, other fans and our own fans of 'plucky little Everton' was down to him to serve his own ego. This club should under no circumstances think like that or be thought as like that

Martinez can spout loads of BS week in week out the fact is that he can't do it on the pitch to backup his claim. Look at the table. The media view Everton as the best of the rest during Moyes's regime and where do we stand now? We aren't even the best of the rest. Spouting loads of crap to the media does not change anything.

Very true.

And this is why I think history will be kind to Roberto Martinez.

He raised our expectations both on and off the field and if we didn't have his first season to compare them with, he wouldn't be getting so much stick about the two that followed.

The axe is inevitable....but I will remember him more fondly than I remember Mr. Moyes.
Can't believe you really mean that! Our expectations now are of imminent, miserable defeat mate.
For all his faults Moyes would have the team up for the remaining games, Martinez is unable to do that and desperately needs removing at the seasons end. IMHO.

Basically when Moyes said we were bringing a knife to a gunfight, he was right... only he said that before a City game, a club he used to stab regularly with his knife and was referring to the transfer budget I believe.

Martinez has been given a gun, but forgot the ammo, forgot to learn how it worked, hasn't practiced firing it and clubs with no weapons at all are walking up to us as we try to load our new shiny gun we bought and knocking us on our a**e with their fists.

R U MAD BRO

When I think of Moyes era there was always someone in the team who came out fighting, Tommy G, Carsley, Cahill, even Fellaini, if someone needed a kick in a game his elbow would always mange to connect to their head. We had fight, we had spirit, what we lacked was money to get a consistent decent striker. We now have that but we've completely lost that do or die spirit. That is my big issue with RM, lots of fluffy words but he and the team lack any backbone. We're a poor impersonation of Arsenal because for all their lack of backbone and tip tppy nonesense, at least they finish top .

Come on lads regardless of the manager support your team. Don't turn on them now or we may as well put the white flag up. We have a huge week ahead starting tomorrow - if we turn on them you give these players an excuse. This time next week we roll into Wembley let's make sure us as fans do no more in our total support. So for now let's put the banners away and support EVERTON.
Think the fans are very supportive but it's a pity the players don't respond as they should and put a 100% shift in.

In short, when Moyes took over we expected PL survival. In 11 years, he transformed Everton to an established top 6 PL side with literally no resources. He was the one who raised my expectation.

Martinez took over in 2013 and got 5th which was my expectation. I expect 5th to 7th in the league based on our results in the last ten seasons so he had achieved the target in his first season.

Christ we need Cahill right now.
