Just been told that Roberto offered to resign after Saturdays game. Offer was refused by Moshiri.

That's all I know.
Going off his recent comments and the fact he's on a long term contract makes me wonder why on earth he'd want to resign - maybe in respect to the fans' wishes which is understandable but would he really refuse to wait for the sack and take a long pay off?

Exactly so there's absolutely no chance of us battering Palace if we didn't batter the previous opponents. Literally 0% of a chance to play better in 1 game than we did in the 1 before.
Think he meant more to do with we weren't good enough to batter a newly promoted side so perhaps we would struggle to batter a team we have already failed to beat with 30 odd shots this season already.

In fact we actually went behind in that game!

Look at the table it does not lie.

I am tired of people saying we will batter these "supposed" lesser teams week in week out while we can do it only against bottom 3 this season.

It is not as easy as you suggested. Look where are we.

A normal human being will wait for the sack and get a pay off.

Exactly. Makes me wonder why it was refused (if true), maybe because we'd want someone nailed down to take over before deciding anything.

I read on the internet saying Moist got £5m from United when he was sacked. This give us the idea on the amount in connection with the compensation when Martinez is gone. Probably will cost the club a couple of million pounds.

Seen those leagues before and they are very strict so I'm assuming they'll have gone with the Chelsea decision and others would have been considered too marginal.
We have been as many as six points behind in past seasons. Which doesn't sound all that bad except you need to account for some teams having six more points. There was once a twelve point margin for bad decisions between us and Arsenal.
But they wouldn't overturn something like a handball that people weren't sure about. I'm guessing only two decisions they'll have looked at would be Chelsea and City in the cup.
But I wasn't really talking about clearly wrong decisions as much as a few games were I've walked away from a draw thinking with a bit of luck we'd have won. I can think of a single one in the league were I've walked away thinking we got more than we deserved. The Spurs draw is the closest.
It's not about excuses it's only really about whether we're as suggested by a few destined to get worse. I just can't see what is supporting that idea.
I get what you're saying, I suppose it's just a matter of opinion.

Personally I think both Spurs games and City away are games where we were lucky to get a point. There have been plenty of others, from Watford on the opening day of the season to the same team on saturday, where we didn't necessarily get more than we deserved, but we couldn't really have argued if we'd lost the game. We were a Joel fingertip away from a 4th straight defeat this weekend, and it wouldn't have been down to bad luck if we'd lost.

Fans are naturally predisposed to remembering the things that have gone against them, and believing that their performances deserved more. Speak to a Norwich fan and they won't talk about how we blitzed them in the first 45 minutes, they'll talk about how once it was 1-1 they missed the best chance to fall to either side which would have won it. I've used the example of the palace game before, we think we played really well and remember us hitting the woodwork a couple of times, but my mate who's a palace fan remembers them hitting us repeatedly on the break and having a blatant pen not given. Same game, different viewpoint. Similarly, we think we deserved to beat West Ham because we were 2-0 up late on, but we also think we deserved to beat West Brom despite being 2-0 down at the same stage. You can't have it both ways.

I certainly don't think we're destined to get worse, but it's a perfectly understandable point of view to think that a team which has been slipping down the league for 2 years is going to continue to do so. Particularly when performances have been getting worse recently. I'm sure Villa fans thought they'd eventually sort themselves out when they slipped from 5th/6th down into the bottom half, but it never happened. We'd be foolish to think we couldn't go the same way.

I have to say, if it's true that Bobby offered to resign, then all credit to him, being willing to pass up the opportunity of a massive pay off. Whatever you say about his managerial abilities, he's a wonderful man who has been a great ambassador for the club. I hope whoever comes into replace him has similar honour and integrity.
