If I was a Manure, West Ham or Watford fan I'd be more than happy to face us because simply we're a team in disarray and fans who are upset.

Still, somehow pretty much all the bookmakers still think we're the clear favourites to win the competition based on their odds.

I would say United would become favourites if they beat West Ham.....simply because that is where the bookmakers biggest liabilities lie.

Hammers win and EFC will probably still be favourites as I Imagine we would be a bigger loser for the bookies than Hammers.

I will nail my colours to the mast now......and I have been quite despondent over the past few weeks.

But thank goodness I am now coming round a bit and starting to get up for Palace.

If we can find a bit of form over these next three games......and the confidence that goes with form when it is translated in wins....we will win that Cup.

Why?

On our day we are the best of the five teams left in it.

United were a shambles yesterday....they are in as much disarray as us and their fans are not a happy bunch either.

West Ham?

We battered them with ten men up until the 75th minute the other week.....and but for a missed penalty would have ran out comfortable winners.

We are better than Hammers.

Palace and Watford are both below us in the table.

One grain of comfort from Watford on Saturday is that for the first time in yonkos, we did not fold when the opposition scored.

We came on again in the second half and could have easily had a couple of goals.

We are where we are chaps and chapesses.....and we ain't beat yet ;)

Spot on assessment. Said almost word-for-word the exact same thing to some of the family yesterday. ;)

I couldn't be bothered to work it all out either, but apparently somebody has. According to http://thehpl.net/1250-2/ we would be a whopping 2 points better off at the moment if all major decisions had been correct. Doesn't really support the idea that we've been massively hampered by bad luck.
Seen those leagues before and they are very strict so I'm assuming they'll have gone with the Chelsea decision and others would have been considered too marginal.
We have been as many as six points behind in past seasons. Which doesn't sound all that bad except you need to account for some teams having six more points. There was once a twelve point margin for bad decisions between us and Arsenal.
But they wouldn't overturn something like a handball that people weren't sure about. I'm guessing only two decisions they'll have looked at would be Chelsea and City in the cup.
But I wasn't really talking about clearly wrong decisions as much as a few games were I've walked away from a draw thinking with a bit of luck we'd have won. I can think of a single one in the league were I've walked away thinking we got more than we deserved. The Spurs draw is the closest.
It's not about excuses it's only really about whether we're as suggested by a few destined to get worse. I just can't see what is supporting that idea.
