Gareth Barry has risked the wrath of
Everton’s under-fire manager
Roberto Martinezby again highlighting the team’s underachievement.
Last week Leighton Baines was publicly shamed by the Spaniard and forced to apologise for suggesting Everton lacked “chemistry” on the pitch.
Everton dropped more points at Watford in a possible FA Cup final rehearsal after it finished 1-1.
Banners were unfurled by travelling fans reading ‘Baines is one of us’, and ‘Martinez out’.
And in comments that echoed some of Baines’s sentiments, Barry said: “When you look at our league position, with the players we’ve got, we need to be higher. You can’t argue about that.
“There is a lot of negativity around at the moment. We don’t want to finish another season in the bottom half of the table.
“We need to make sure we start playing better together as a team.”
