Are Evertonians that shallow now? Winning the Derby means people will forget how bad the season is? Do you think kopites will really care about winning the game? Us it is just another league game, thats all. So if we win it, it's three points we win, not a big trophy thst crowns us King of Merseyside

So we cant buy blue lego buses if we win then?

Yes, of course they'll care about winning it.

No, it won't make us forget that we're garbage, and have been all season. But at least we'll be the same garbage that beats them. Anything that shuts the mutants up or makes them fume is worth doing.

If Martinez wins the FA Cup I know BK will not boot him out of the club but shall a club win warrent him a longer time in charge based on the league form? Are we prepared to endure yet another season like the current campaign?

Unlike some pro Martinez posters I don't buy the captioned idea at all. It's likely our two blightest talents in Lukaku and Stones are gone this summer. This will give the pro lads further excuse if Martinez continues to execute the regression mode next season. Their argument might be similar to this - we are rebuilding our initial rebuilding programme as the two talents have left half way through. It will take times as we are building Roma.

New empty words continue to cover up the past empty words.

I also don't see why regression will give ourselves a better chance of long term success automatically. In fact, regression will weaken the mentality of the club as a whole. When fans accept midtable position perhaps all the work of Moyes is undone at once. Personally Everton are a top 6 PL club. It is marked by the league positions from Moyes's tenure up to the 72 points trophy season.

Even if he is still the manager and the FA Cup is won, to keep RM for another PL season is just prolonging the agony. As for the success or other wise of the next season is rather dependent on what players we will have. To me there could be serious disruptions in the summer.

Our prem season is now coming into focus: we're finishing somewhere between 11th and 16th and frankly, if we claw back up from where we are right now (14th) I'll be amazed. If we were already out of the FA cup I suspect Martinez would have been let go already. As it stands, if we lose the semi-final I suspect Moshiri will wield the axe.

If first-season Bobby is planning to ride to the rescue, now's the time. Fingers crossed.

Nah

He's past the point of recovery now. Only a matter of time before things come to a head now

It seems to me first season Bobby had a back four who were still indoctrinated(not even sure that's a word) into the ways of the Moyes, slowly but surely though that has ebbed away and we are where we are.

It seems this last couple of games it is coming more into the main stream media that we as fans are not happy. I do not take any pleasure in people losing their jobs but Martinez has had two full seasons to sort out glaring weaknesses and blindly refuses too, preferring to see positives where there really isn't any. If The Echo etc are also running rumours on managers being sounded out, it certainly does seem like the end of days for Martinez.

But in respect of keeping a manager?

Also I'm sure if we win they will just bat the result off and focus on the next game instead. Us buzzing off besting them after a poor season is taking us back 20 years sadly

Horrendous records.

Bill fired Smith so there is hope.

And Bill publicly came out and backed Smith to the hilt in interviews months before he sacked Smith so if anybody was to come at you with a recent quote Bill made on Martinez you can come at them with this of may 2001...

The Everton owner broke his silence over suggestions that he was contemplating a change, with Preston's David Moyes supposedly in line to take over, and said: 'I am meant to be announcing Walter's departure, if you believe all you hear, but nothing could be further from the truth. I want to make it clear that Walter is very much the man for the job here and will still be in charge next season. I know there are a few dissenting voices among our fans, but you have to acknowledge that our injury problems this season have been without parallel.' Kenwright added: 'Walter and I speak the same language. We both know the score on finance. If I had £150million, believe me, it would be in Everton's bank account. But I haven't and we have to operate in the real world. It is easy to knock the manager, but just look at the problems he has had this season. Throughout it all, Walter has stood there to be counted. He has been honest and faced his responsibilities and I have never had any doubts that he is the right man for us.'

Not that it matters either way since Everton's been sold.
