The Sunday Supplement is inherently focused on the top echelons of the league in regards to profile, hence mainly the ol' Big Four.

They always have been and always will be, so I'd always take their perspective with a pinch of salt. Well instead of a pinch, maybe a handful.

Let's not be naive, if we were the likes of Arsenal, Spurs or Liverpool etc. then Martinez's failings would be splattered all over the press.

The fact that we're not, thus our profile is less, then it's easier to ignore. Or they simply don't realise in the first place as they take little interest.

Arguably, the fact we're not hanging over the precipices also means that we don't get the focus - that's for Newcastle and others.

Simply though we know the facts... we've all seen how dire we've been... it will start to seep into the mainstream over time.

Strachan has never been the same since the cancelled 'Russ Abbots Madhouse'
the point here really is the media dont care because we are in effect a modern day Coventry city, in short no one is arsed apart from a couple of hundred who post on social media and a few thousand who go the match, unless you are media darlings no one actually gives a toss.

General media concensus from those with no brain is that we should just be happy with our lot and position as one of those teams that is always in the league and thus able to share in the glory of the premiership as opponents to the likes of city, united, the rs, chelsea etc

The fact that Strachan used Leeds to compare us to as a big club was shocking, compare the two clubs honour lists, Leeds 3 titles 1 FA Cup, Blackburn have a better honours list than Leeds as do many other clubs

We will always be classed as plucky little Everton in liverpools shadow on the tele. So as long as where not in the relegation zone the media are not bothered about us.

Kaamara is basically a clown....a foil for Jeff Stelling to play off on Saturday afternoon when he isn't flirting with Bianca Jagger.

She is absolutely terrible. I've never heard her report back and not stutter over her words. I even watch for her especially now to see how many words she can get out without making a mistake. The other night it was the first word she said.......

Just nearly smashed my tv at goals in Sunday Gordon strachan saying it's only 4 fans & we should be grateful were not Northampton.

As Evertonian's we all know the huge discontent over Martinez, but to the outside world it was just 4 fans holding a banner up who aren't happy, until it's done en masse it's always going to be perceived as a few unhappy fans by the media.

The last 4 games I have heard Evertonians say after each game that the result isn't that bad when ye think about it, Wes ham- 'they are a decent team though, Arsenal- not bad arsenal are up there, United- when do we ever beat united, one nil not bad, Watford- 'good away point not that bad as people making out.

Christ that is more embarrassing and cringey than an infinite number of flags with daft poetry on them.

I know Roberto has beat some of you down but some of you are showing wife beater syndrome on gargantuan levels. It's cringiest of all. What happened to being devasted drawing against crap like Watford in a one of bad performance?

Fine. My point is that of the many people I sit amongst very few are at the point where they want him sacked now. A forum reflects its contributors, not all Evertonians.

Over 28,000 people are signed up to GOT.....only 1800 feel the need to vote. That's quite telling as it doesn't even reflect the noise being made on the Forum

We don't know if those 26,200 will be in favour of Martinez or not but think logically, how many can endure these pathetic results? Not many. Take any poll across the web. Most people want Martinez gone.

We are not currently or will ever be comparable to Coventry in any sense (and without sounding too much like a kopite) - Our history guarantees this

Different perspective though mate.

Mccarthy signed from his former club so you knew what we were getting

Lukaku was a top class signing. I'd never scouted him myself but could have told you 4 years ago he was going onto great things.

Mori we overspent on remember for whatever reason. Plus he was an investment for the future.

Besides that, all other signings have been low cost with minimal risk. I'm not writing naisse off by any means but you have to ask questions as to why he is still deemed not ready after so long

Ah right, so McCarthy, Lukaku and Mori weren't bought with "real money" then ?
My mistake.

Could well happen next Saturday, lose against Palace mid week, and Southampton go ahead next Saturday - GP will not be a place for the faint hearted, not sure it bears thinking about!

But on the other hand RM has made some poor signings.

He has, as do all managers.

On the whole, he's barely wasted any cash though. Kone's the only one that really stands out, and arguably if he hadn't been crocked for a year or so, it wouldn't have been a waste. McGeady and Alcaraz were gash, but cost next to nothing. There are many reasons to say Martinez's has been a poor manager, but his record in the transfer market isn't one of them.
