Spot on. But we dont know what Martinez will do in the summer (if hes here) as he has never had serious money to spend over a few players at the same time.

Thats my thinking as he knows the squad back to front by now and so logically we wont need someone to come in and take ages to get things changed.

I think we need dramatic changes.

He knows the squad back to front but can't get them to play

Any good manager would get results from this group as they would suit the system to them

Yawn....more meaningless nonsense. There is clear hatred on here and that is obvious and has been provem by 15 people saying they want the team to lose to get the manager sacked.

Getting a bit tedious and boring now...not one poster has actually written out a detailed plan with reasoning on who would do a better job, how we would change tactically and what players would be jettissoned under the manager.

"Oooooh, lets get Jose in"....yawn.

Haha can't argue against so deflect

Classic martinez

The thing is, if there was actually someone on here who had a "plan" on who would be brought in as manager, what they would be doing differently to Martinez and actually showed some insight into a change then I'd be quite open and interested to read it.

At the moment not a single poster (i have seen) has offered an alternative despite thousands of pages on this and other threads endlessly bashing the manager and (mostly) backing the players.

Simply writing a managers name and saying "look what he won" (with quite a lot of these managers having serious money) doesnt equate to an alternative.

So, in the end we just have the same posters writing the same things on the forum. In reality the new ownership will be looking to improve in all areas but a gradual change and nothing immediate i think, but that could all change itself.

What id be keen to learn is what peoples suggestions would be for a manager and also what he would do differently....as for me its not just the manager at all. Its the players
This will feel like discussing the future of marine transport engineering on Titanic during its last hours...

Good God I just saw this post.
Sweet Lord and heavens above.
Have mercy on us.

For those who criticise anyone who they say never gave him a chance mate, will point to a whole host of things he said and results he had at Wigan and say even the most criticial of Everton fans actually gave him a huge amouint of leeway - if we hadn't then honestly we could have slaughtered him as a fanbase based on all his prior from day one.

The bloke reminds me of Graeme Norton in Father Ted, ultra positive and everything is fantastic and brilliant and amazing - no matter what the reality of the situation is - acftually think i am gonna dig around a bit more and see what other belters i can come up with - have the strange feeling that post FA Cup win and relegation that followed will contain some hidden corkers, as will whenever he talks about being able to now push on to another level with Wigan - which i saw him mention a fair bit at differing times of his tenure there

Zat you have absolutlely no basis for keeping him other than your fantasy football style transfer plans

Which of your galacticos are going to join a team finishing in the bottom half

The man's out of his depth but you are blind

There's evidence for that

We're 14th and barely holding off the challenge of Watford and palace to stay there

Yes, the reasons i would keep him are:

A-- He has a vision of good football
B-- Id like to see what he can do with money
C-- He signs young players with long term focus
D-- Very positive personality
E-- "Could be tactically astute with the right players

At the moment in the short term its not good enough and hasnt been for ages now....but i like to be positive and see him have an opportunity.

I'm a nice guy that way :)

He can attract good players himself and i think with our core of quality others will want to come and we have money now.

Quite frankly though i want a massive load of changes on the playing side.....disgusted with some of them.

Jags injury is bad for everton...and even worse for Martinez. ...if we go to the derby and to the Wembley without jags. ...ffs

Even worse if we rush him back the same way we did for the 4-0 hammering at the pit mate, remember a half fit Jagielka having a horror show that day - as did Stones playing at right back and ofc the always reliably (terrible) Alcaraz

I'm not sure E stands up, it's his team now and it's a mess.

Wrong. Theres different types of manager.

Look at Howe for example, he never changed his style or system despite injuries and losses...then it clicked for them and they shot up the table -- he confirmed this a couple of weeks back.

Long term thinking, play the system.

To be fair, this approach also seems to be working for Martinez. He has now got us challenging Howe's team for thirteenth place.

lollollol.......

Mostly his players but not all...he needs to move a load on still i think.

Also left midfield hes not spent money at all there but for shoehorning £5mil Kone and Free Cleverley there....centre mid other than McCarthy he has 2 budget signings.

Only position where i think we have no need to look at is Right Wing....for me, the rest is fair game.

He bought Aidan McGeedy for the midfield.
