I do look long term and wonder how Roberto can lead us to success and unfortunately in this league I can't remember many teams who have ever been successful without building from the back. Even relative success can be built on being hard to beat. In this league, more than any other, teams put you under pressure and you have to be able to cope with the physical defensive side that I can't see him ever being able to manage because I haven't see any signs of improvement and him actually acknowledging the issue. I hope to god we win the cup and that winning mentality stays with the club into next season and there's a change in the air. We can all dream.

Given the situation, this might seem a bit weird, but one thing Martinez has done, is given us hope.

By finishing fifth in his first season, playing some great footie, and nudging the glass ceiling, he's shown that you don't permanently have to take a knife to a gunfight, and you can compete with the big spenders without matching them in the wallet. Add that, to the fact that we appear to be leaving behind our general lack of ambition at board level, and, though our finances are unlikely to match the likes of United, Chelsea and City in my lifetime, we should be hopeful for the future.

Having said that, I've had a few beers pre-match, and on the way back too, so it's possible I'm talking complete bollocks.

I would say mate for 3 months in his second season we were all still believing. From then on WB he has done absolutely nothing to warrant being the Everton manager.

He's not good enough and never will be. There is no reason for any Blues to argue with each other is there, we've given him time and most importantly the player have given him time. The players do not believe in what he's doing so it's irrelevant what we think because it's the players lack of results/performances that will get him sacked.

Yes I do and all that guff about paying your money and being entitled to an opinion is twaddle, media tripe. You pay what max 45 quid for a ticket, your not investing thosands of pounds, where does that sense of entitlement come from- what entitles fans to undermine the team?

In case you hadn't noticed in the past two seasons, booing players has undermined the development of some of our players on the ball and broadly at half time etc. We have a team that are awful at home - where we used to be unbeatable, in case you hadn't noticed and have one of the best away records in the league. Work it out.

Your badly hyperboling, presenting this Tedish behaviour as caring enough to do something, get a grip and read the last paragraph and look at exactly how fans and the culture of entitlement is contributing. It's divisive. Crisis that requires action? Yeah right, sorry I've been through Johnson, to many last day relegation battles, financial implosions - I won't be unfurling divisive banners or booing - at a mid table finish and the prospect of an Fa Cup final.

*you're, all those big words and you make such an obvious error.

By your standards we should be just happy that Everton are in the premiership and settle for that.

Although we did beat Chelsea in the cup so that counts towards an acceptable season.

I'm ok with only having one leg and the fact that I'm blind, sure I could have the Black Plague.

Martinez has many positives imo. Hes an eye for a player, can make them feel ten foot tall and make them believe in themselves.

However, he's hampered by his own self imposed philosophy which completely destroys anything he attempts.

Read the stuff he spouted about Pep Guadiola. He idolises him. Yet refuses to accept the bedrock of that man's managerial skills...which is defence, hard work, and intensity.

Martinez just likes pretty football.

We are 8th on points gained away from home mate, hardly brilliant is it? the same points away from home that stoke have got, a point more than Bournemouth, 3 more than palace, a point less than the rs, same points as Chelsea.

But yes, it's the fans and the banners

been through Johnson - remember the fans doing a few sit down protest at games mate and staying after the final whistle to make it plain and clear - and shock horror even chanting some stuff during that too?

You honestly think that today the team was undermined by the banners? - grow the hell up mate, for one the players probably didn't even see or notice them

My point on protest, was not in the midst of not protesting, as I myself was involved during the Johnson years. My point was the hyperbole created that a context such as that was comparitable the above situation, it's your perception of crisis. Again in that scenario the context in different as you know the crux of the Johnson protests and what goes on in terms of on the feed matters and protest crosses a rubicon. I could understand Villa fans last week, I think the action of some our fans this week was divisive and undermining for the team - if I'm honest I've thought this since last season.

And yes I do think the behaviour of some of our fans undermines the teams and some of players, Barkley and a Stones and I have seen it with others also, I'm won't start telling you to grow up though - I hate slinging mud in a debate.

Incidentally do not words in mouth, I don't think I mentioned younger fans once in any point that I made, so despite seeing a lot of a Everton success and low times, I certaintly would exclude fans of an elder vintage from my disappointment.

I think results wise we're up there in terms of away records mate, certainly comparatively are results are far more more resilient away.

He needs to go. Wish him only the best, gave us a hope for more than a year. But sadly he is totally deluded and has no idea how to turn it around for more than 20 months. Hopefully Spain will want him to replace del Bosque over Benitez, so we don't have to sack him as I am not sure Kenwright will sack him even if majority of fans want him out. Would save us money too.
