So doesn't the buck stop with the manager when the same defensive issues keep cropping up and he does nothing
Well, a lot of fans were blaming "Martinez' style of play" for the amount of goals we were conceding, which was true earlier in the season when we were being caught on the counter attack while winning, which was insanity. Now, in my opinion, it's more of a players problem, as mentioned before, the lack of concentration. In the West Ham game, I think it was due to tired legs, McCarthy and others weren't getting out in time to block crosses, and I can understand if they physically couldn't due to tired legs. This is the only thing I'd call into question every time, is Martinez' decision making when it comes to subs. He doesn't have a clue sometimes, and gives players 5 minutes to do something, when the fans have been screaming for him for 15 minutes previously. Going back to that West Ham game, he brought on Barry way too late. The only reason I can think of why he would bring on Niasse instead is because he thought the game was over, and wanted to give him a run

You're going to have to prove to me his approach in analysing individual games is dramatically different from other managers. He seems to talk about the club as a whole and include himself in that. Don't know if that's particularly unusual.
I don't really care what other managers do to be honest I'm just sick of new excuses getting used as each defeat passes.
I'm not saying he is right or wrong in his actions it's just my opinion.

By getting the balance between attacking and defending right, which he has done at times this season, but not enough - see Stoke, Southampton. So I'm saying that it's there, he just needs to get it right more, and I'm willing to give him time to see if he does.

The thing is thoe, the balance between attack and defence were fine in the 1st season, he just needed to work off that format but instead stripped it back and decided to go with his boss 'philosophy', he's chopped and changed the starting 11 and the role of that player that many times in 2 years theirs no wonder theirs no chemisty

Plus how much time are you willing to give him to get it right, because if we didn't have the third highest prem goalscorer we would be in serious meltdown right now

So many responses to these absolutely nothing comments from Baines and Martinez highlighting the utter ridiculousness of the modern football fan and the football business machine. They are adults, they've been made to speak by the corporations and brands that keep them rich. It has absolutely no real bearing on anything.

And yet here you are responding to responses about absolutely nothing

Baines made a clear and fair point that is obviously true

Martinez for some reason decides to make a fool of himself by basically saying Baines was wrong

Do you really think Martinez was "made" to say that
