Exactly Just look at Chelsea under mourinho. Obviously underperforming so they got rid of their title winning manager.

not saying it's wrong to get rid of the manager in such instances ... just saying it's a sorry state of affairs where employees can just dig their heels and player-power will win the day because that's the easiest option. How many managers could they go through and how much money could they cost the owner if they simply can't be bothered to comply with his/her theories. It will always be the cheaper option for the owner to get rid of the manager.

Would you rather people didn't post their opinion? Wouldn't be much of a forum

If you don't like it, don't read it, why get worked up over it

I'm not the one worked up, typing out tripe and insulting our manager. There's better ways to debate the situation. Why are you defending people who express their opinion like that of a 12 year old?

Lads can we keep the name calling of Martinez out of the conversation please. By all means disagree and comment on what he's said but he's still the Everton manager (and likely to be for some time) so that requires some respect.

It's also against the ethos of this place, "respectful and intelligent" as it says in the site rules.

Thanks

In the spirit of "respectful and intelligent", if the nature of what El Bob has said this morning is being correctly interpreted on this thread/forum, then maybe it's time for him to be equally so "respectful and intelligent" too.

If he has issues with the sentiments expressed by Leighton Baines and maybe others and their collective feelings/body language, then he needs to be intelligent in how he deals with it/them. The washing of dirty linen in public by either side in an argument/discussion is never or rarely productive and if this mornings comments are being accurately interpreted, then the clock on his tenure surely must be ticking.

I'm becoming ever more fearful for the remainder of this season, as it appears that the alleged lack of chemistry is being aired in public at precisely the wrong time... massive games ahead of us including what will now definitely be make-or-break games against the RS and the semi...

I so, so, so dearly want us to prevail in at least one of those two, preferably both, but...

I don't think the Baines comments can have helped. Privately Martinez should have ascertained how accurately Baines had been reported. To have to bring it up at a conference isn't helpful either. I'm not sure how he should react to it in a conference - or how he could comment otherwise to the manner that he did - but I would rather he had kept his counsel.

Everything he says now is just pure delusion, why can't he just tell it as it is for once?

Sick to death of the bloke, if he doesn't get sacked at the end of the season we're just showing how weak we are as a club, and demonstrating that we don't have even one iota of the ambition that our neighbours have.
Why wait until the end of the season to sack him..

Good points, I suppose if there's any consolation it's that this type of performance will surely do him no favours with Mr Moshiri.

Martinez seems to have lost control and that's not going to be tolerated beyond the end of our competitive season.

Our form suggests that with Bobby in charge we will not win the cup.

I am afraid that is reality.

based on the fact he's already won it with a worse team who were under bigger league pressures than us?

or based on the fact we've breezed through the competition without conceding a goal and have knocked out the current league champions?

or based on the fact we were possibly a good officiating call away from the final in the other cup?

there's nothing in our cup form that suggests this.

Martinez Excuses

  • The Home Fans
  • The World Cup
  • Pre Season
  • The Semi Final
  • People protesting against Bill
  • The Players
  • The Ref
  • The Takeover
  • Other Clubs spending more money
  • Osman being injured
  • Distin
  • Booing
Any more?
I think you will be adding more before brown sneakers is gone.

What did he say about Baines?
