That's a bit of an exaggeration.....one of the worst you've seen form him???

United were dreadful at the weekend also, they're manager admitted they were very lucky to win and for long periods in the game we were the better side.

One of the worst press conferences for sure.

- Blamed "FA Cup hype" for poor results

- Said it's no surprised we've lost as "other FA Cup semi-finalists (Watford and Palace) haven't won since quarters either"

- Blasted Baines for daring to admit the team is playing dreadfully

- Claimed we were better than United on Sunday

- Usual cavalcade of excuses "posts, crossbar, refs, big moments, fine margins" etc

- "We want to be as good as we can be and fight for every point possible."

It's surprising to see just how binary the opinion is on Martinez.

As someone who no longer knows whether he has it in him to turn the ship around, I find it difficult to accept only 3% of blues agree.

It's okay not to be sure about something. I see both sides of the argument. But it feels like the battle lines are well and truly drawn and you're either "with him or against him."

I'm convinced a huge chunk of the fanbase are where you are. To my mind voting 'in' meant I don't know yet and want to see how things develop. And I'm pretty sure a whole load of 'outs' are people who are frustrated in general and whose gut feeling is that he hasn't got what it takes to take things forward. Not that different really and I think some of the tension is strange.

Sorry pal, I thought you meant that comment in isolation was 1 of his worst.

Lads can we keep the name calling of Martinez out of the conversation please. By all means disagree and comment on what he's said but he's still the Everton manager (and likely to be for some time) so that requires some respect.

It's also against the ethos of this place, "respectful and intelligent" as it says in the site rules.

My attitude has changed to him slightly now but not for the reasons of our form.

I've been a big supporter of his and if we were still under the control of the regime we've had for the last 20 years I'd still want him in charge.

Managers like Moyes are limited, he did a great job for us when we need it but we'd have never won a thing or broken the mould under him but I do feel Bobby potentially has it in to him win cups (we know this for certain) and rebuild club form top to bottom whilst putting in place an ethos that makes us competitive and gives us our own DNA as he says. A creative style that means we can go anywhere with confidence, be adventurous in our play and not have to grind out results which will only take you so far although I can understand the fear of some the way it's going at the moment. I certainly think he has it in him to achieve top 4 and establish a mid table, mediocre but skint big club back up at the top again with limited resources but it will take time.

However the Moshri takeover has changed the whole landscape for me and we now need a different type of manager. We don't need to believe in Martinez now, or give him time to see if he can deliver what he says, we can afford the real deal. I think we've got a right few ££££ to work with (a lot more than people think) and the whole ball game has changed. Right now we need a proven manager who can get instant results and win the respect of this cracking squad that Martinez has done so well to put together.

Agree with most of this but I don't think we'll see this change for awhile because the squad needs more and I think they'll want anyone coming in to completely understand what is required. At the moment there's a lot of managers available who are hyped to hell because they've jumped from one money rich club to another with the short term goal of improving their cv.
Saying we need to be patient is partly because we really don't know whether there is someone much better out there who will want the job and will be happy to focus as much on the club's future as what happens next season. And Martinez may still surprise people.

Everything he says now is just pure delusion, why can't he just tell it as it is for once?

Sick to death of the bloke, if he doesn't get sacked at the end of the season we're just showing how weak we are as a club, and demonstrating that we don't have even one iota of the ambition that our neighbours have.
