There's no way he's getting big money if he's on some sort of probation. If he spends big in the summer then he's here for the long haul. In fact if he spends anything in the summer then he's going nowhere. Personally think he won't be here though.

Yeah i think we will see at the end of the season whether we have martinez in place. Its a strange one really because i feel its unfair to expect him to work miracles without being backed with money and yet at the same time think he needs to step up and get the players playing with heart.

He really needs a couple of wins now and i think if i was him id be going Kevin Keegan on attack and seeing if we can turn sides over...no use to play as we have been doing as too many fans against him now.

I just dont see any current available managers out there who id particularly be excited about either.

My thinking is that Martinez will be given money this summer and with a specific mandate of player type to sign for bigger amounts (similar to how he has been buying already a group of u25 players). I think Moshiri will have taken advice on the values of players bought in as well and see a mini-Wenger approach.

Then i think the target next season will be top 6. Less than that like 7th would be accepted as long as we reached Europe....otherwise hes sacked.

Following season a push for top 4 after a couple of larger signings as cherries on top of the team.

I keep harping on about the squad, but i really believe thst with a top keeper/central midfielder and left winger at the beginning of this season we would be far higher up the league. Now its apparent also that others have improved or regressed and we need more than just those 3 players.

Is it martinez fault he didnt bring these players in?perhaps but last summer he spent the money on Deulofeu, lennon and mori and this summer hes again playing catchup just the same as when distin went downhill.

He needs money to spend.

Why would anyone give Money to Martinez given his record of delivery?

Patience. Football will work itself out mate.

Someone may be able to come in and get the team playing really well till the end of the season or even next season...could be top 6-8 i suppose.

However, it would be a different % based type of football needed. So for me id rather get in top players and play the way martinez wants.

I mean, we have no top CM, no LW and no GK before we even look at other positions.

But we do have a squad of talented players that should be performing better. We should be thinking less about new signings and more about why we're performing so badly right now.

Too many teams in the past have come unstuck thinking the solution to their problems is to throw money at them.

I be
You know what mate, i have been thinking about this the last few days trying to get my head around when would be the best time for this, should it happen.

Personally, right now it feels like we a flogging a dead horse. The club is flat, the players sound like they are unhappy and everything is going wrong. I am half on the fence thinking if we get rid now and have a interim till the end of the season we will see a difference in play and performances which might give us a bit of a kick up the arse in the cup.

then am half on the fence thinking, he should at least be given to the end of the season - let him finish the season we aren't going down (thank god there is actually worse teams then us at the moment) and we still have the semi.

So long as behind the scene working is going on with regards to a replacement shortlist and getting things in place am sound either way. There'll be less fume between now and the end of the season if he goes now, thats for sure.
I believe we will be better off without the Martinez for the FA cup, get rid now or winning the FA cup might just buy us another half a season of his bullsh.t excuses, winning games consistently is not his forte. Lets be honest Dag Red, Carlisle, Bournemouth and Chelsea is hardly a master stroke by Martinez, most of us fans could manage the team to this stage of the cup with. Lets not be blinded by a possible FA cup triumph,

Sack him now
Interim manager until the end of the season
Win the FA cup
Gus Hiddink in the summer

What makes you think it will turn around? Genuine question? Nothing in Martinez's history shows anything will change.
I don't know if it will turn around under him. And don't think we can really judge on what happened at very different clubs than Everton in very different situations. Both of them have had different trajectories since and very different long term potential. Wigan were relegated but it was a nightmare job for anyone at a club in a totally artifical position who couldn't realistically ever progress further. Really nothing like going down with Villa or Newcastle. Or even a team like Hull. His time at Swansea was fine and could easily be argued they're still stable partly because of him.
But I don't know and really don't care too much about his history.
So as far as I'm concerned it's just whether it will it turn round based on what's happening here. And we've got the right kind of quality coming in I reckon, we're starting to look better on the ball, since the change of keeper we've looked more solid, there's a lot of great youngsters coming through and I think we've shown signs we can mix our play up a bit better than last season. May be because of or it may be despite of the manager but it's worth giving him a shot for next season.

1658 supporters on that petition now. If it was Tranmere they'd be starting to fret a little.
