In a sad sadomachist kind of way I can't wait to hear what excuses he'll be trotting out next season when we are sat in 15th without Roms goals. Will be even more funny in a depressing way as he'll have spent £100 million or so in the summer.

Maybe if our fans cared more about what's going on at our club instead of always comparing our reflection to the Kopites then perhaps we wouldn't have stagnated as much as we have.

Tired of fans giving it the "Kopite dat lad" everytime our fans speak up, even more so when said fans are old enough to remember us under John Moores.

Totally agree Fisher, even though I'm one of those who are old enough to remember some of the John Moores era! We sometimes say the players don't care enough, but nothing should stop real supporters having a voice and an opinion providing it's done in the right way - and that's one of the differences between us and kopites! There's nothing wrong at all in caring, especially when you watch some of the rubbish we've been served up with for nearly two years now!

"Statistically we have got one of the best teams in the history of Everton yet we are 12th in the premier league all our hopes of European football slashed. We need to come together and make a stand we are not happy #martinezout"

Reads like something off here

Whilst I see were you are coming from, is this the low level of expectation we are now accepting ? Moyes was top 6 chase or be sacked, cup runs are also a must.

Now its finish 12-17th and a cup run would be nice...

People still say Martinez is better than Moyes lollollollollollollollollollollol

@Paul Bernard

let's be honest, martinez has won more. There's nothing under the achievements roster for "plenty of 6th placed finishes".

i think the reason that leicester are top has done martinez no favours whatsoever, our fans are looking at it and thinking wtf are we not there? Which is right of course, the manager takes the blame for that all day - the players do as well. If they're not playing for him then they should play for the club, it's just the sorry society we live in these days where players can go a whole year with a half-arsed approach and they'll pick up their vast wages, get an increase easily etc.

Just look at chelsea under mourinho this season - utterly appalling, why has abramovic been paying their wages? i'd have told them all to do one, they haven't deserved any wages for 3/4rs of the season. Just because you don't agree with your bosses views, doesn't give you the right to make a half arsed attempt at things.

Our aim should have and should be next season to win things whilst also challenging for top 4 - that's what i want to see us doing, that's what we have the talent for. But ultimately success is based on the things you win and if you have a crap league season but win trophies - that's success in my eyes. You still watch finals from years in the past. If that's not under martinez so be it. the drivel on this forum from our fans has been an utter embarrassment lately though - utterly laughable. Our club will become a laughing stock if they continue with their seemingly "hope we lose so the manager gets sacked" attitude.

Would a long awaited Anfield win and progression to an FA Cup final see fans jump back on the 'give Martinez more time' boat again? I've got a feeling it would.

If by some miraculous miracle this scenario was to happen, personally I'd still want him gone after the final anyway.
Taking your post to mean WINNING the cup, rather than just getting to the final and losing... my answer is no.

The reason for this is as follows:

We are currently 12th. We have 38 points, exactly the same as Bournemouth, whom we are ahead of only due to goal difference. We have two games in hand over them. In 14th and 15th, on 37 points each, are Watford and Swansea. Palace are 16th, with 34 points. Ahead of us in 11th is WBA, on 40 points. In 10th place with 44 points is Chelsea, and the RS are a point ahead of them, sitting in 9th with 45 points.

What does all this mean? It means that MATHEMATICALLY there is as much chance of us coming 16th at this point as there is of us coming 9th. 17th placed Norwich are closer to catching us than we are to catching Stoke (8th) or Southampton (7th). Yes, we have games in hand over everyone around us, but I have serious concerns over our chances of picking up decent points from our remaining games. We face Watford and Palace away in our next two PL fixtures, followed by Southampton at Goodison (where no doubt the fans will be blamed if the win doesn't materialise) and then the derby at the pit. We finish off with Bournemouth, Leicester, Sunderland and Norwich.

Some of those teams will be scrapping for their PL lives when we play them, Leicester will be trying to win the title, Southampton are looking at an EL place and the RS need no motivation when we play each other. Our opponents will ALL be after three points when they face us, we have no "easy" games left.

You asked if winning the Derby and winning the FA cup final would get fans back onside - I would say that if we won those games but lost all the other PL fixtures, which at this point looks somewhat possible, we'd be 16th or 17th. Sunderland and Norwich aren't going to go on six-game winning streaks now, so we are safe from relegation, but 16th place will see a mass exodus of talent form the club. Say we scrape a win or two, and a couple draws, and finish 14th - is 14th place a price you are willing to pay for a Cup? Not me.

Martinez needs to win the majority (i.e. at LEAST 5 of the 8 remaining PL games and ALL the FA cup fixtures) of his remaining games to win back my support. Those wins MUST include the Derby and the FA Cup final, and there must be enough of them to finish higher than at least one of either Chelsea or the RS.

10th place, the FA cup, and finishing higher than just ONE of the big-spending clubs. Anything less than that and my opinion stays as it is right now: sack him.

PS Daddy wouldn't buy me a pony.

Ey, its not for me to tell anyone how to support the club nor how to make their feelings to the club known. all I can do is give my opinion within a forum such as this. Here goes...

It's one of the most pathetic, embarrassing things I've ever seen regarding football.

And before an FA Cup semi-final too thus compounding its ridiculousness.

would bear absolutely no relevance to me at all. shouldn't even be in the equation.

I agree the board should of sacked Martinez a couple of weeks ago and given us time to prepare for the semi
It is an epic fail on behalf of the board, and makes me question Moshiri and his intentions going forward

I think that's a little dramatic mate.
And a couple of weeks ago we tossed aside Chelsea with the vibrancy in our play we all crave on a consistent basis.

He can't walk in and start swinging the axe.

what an utter embarrassment that is. 2k fans is the aim - is that the majority of our support? ha, that is so so sad. Imagine taking that to our board, they'll laugh in your face and rightly so.
Ive just flicked through all the comments on that petition TJ. Sadly, I recognise a lot of the names on it and I'm amazed they have signed it, and it must purely out of their frustration.

Exactly Just look at Chelsea under mourinho. Obviously underperforming so they got rid of their title winning manager.

Calling our display against Chelsea vibrant would be stretching it for me. It was a game devoid of any quality until Rom's moment of brilliance. Good result of course but we weren't great shakes.

Not at all, I think he needs to show faith in his manager imo, maybe even back him for one more season then get rid. Currently we have picked up the tag the entertainers, and if we can play that way and win games then we will be a massive pull for new fans, and will be a team people will want to watch on the sort of global scale we hope he is wanting to send our image out to.

Walking in, dumping in him and bringing in someone new may well be the worst idea he could of had, start his employ as a tyrant, over ride the other board members, and alienate himself for the greater good.. Nice to see backbone, but very silly if he's angling for a bigger share of the club.

Lets see how summer goes, because Martinez clearly does has a vision, even if currently its blurred vision and the vision is not clear at all, and he has done 1 half of the plan pretty well..

I want to see if his main focus is improving defensively before he goes tbh.

I'd like him to win games, entertain and stay if i'm honest.. But we need to do the first to make the other 2 possible because imo there is nothing entertaining about not winning.
