Maybe Barkley shy's from tackles because his double break is still in his mind.
It's not just tackles, it's the whole defensive side of the game. There was an incident on sunday where he was in the right back position and he just made a half-arsed attempt to block a cross by dangling a leg out which resulted in the player literally walking past him and crossing from a better position.

I don't want to criticise Barkley because I think he's brilliant, but i've said for a long time that he's getting too much carrot and not enough stick. He and Deulofeu appear to be allowed to cruise through games and have no defensive responsibility whatsoever, and it isn't good for their development. The same applies in reverse to McCarthy who has seemingly been allowed to get to the age of 25 without anybody ever suggesting that he may want to do a bit more than just run round and tackle. We don't seem to be making these players more rounded, we just ask each of them to do one part of a job, and then wonder why we have no 'chemistry'.

If he wins the FA cup wouldn't you agree he deserves another season?

The cup would be great but it doesn't hide the continued failings in the league

I'm sure when goals are set at the start of the season they are based primarily on league performance

Tough to set hard goals where luck is involved. you could draw city in the first round of each cup

You know what mate, i have been thinking about this the last few days trying to get my head around when would be the best time for this, should it happen.

Personally, right now it feels like we a flogging a dead horse. The club is flat, the players sound like they are unhappy and everything is going wrong. I am half on the fence thinking if we get rid now and have a interim till the end of the season we will see a difference in play and performances which might give us a bit of a kick up the arse in the cup.

then am half on the fence thinking, he should at least be given to the end of the season - let him finish the season we aren't going down (thank god there is actually worse teams then us at the moment) and we still have the semi.

So long as behind the scene working is going on with regards to a replacement shortlist and getting things in place am sound either way. There'll be less fume between now and the end of the season if he goes now, thats for sure.

My view would be sack him now.
We are not going to be relegated but we can give the players and fans a massive lift for the rest of the season.
One thing is for sure, we cannot go on like this and send tens of thousands of fans (at huge personal cost) down to Wembley with a deflated team and fanbase.
What do we have to loose with Sheedy and Unsworth in charge for 9-10 games.

If he wins the cup I know he will get another season. Well deserve? 50:50. He has undoubted credit if winning the cup but the league form is another matter.

Not that I want him to but I think he will buy time with a cup win.

My concern is the league form and the winning rate since August 2014.

Yeah i am proper torn about it mate - i am leaning more towards it'd be better to do it now, you know pull a plaster off and all that.

One thing is for sure, the fanbase would be in a better place if it did happen - shudder to think should we lose to Watford.

apparently Ross makes 3 times as many tackles when playing for england, or something like that, i will love him regardless like
