The key part of The Esks story imo.

"The removal of Martinez would say a huge amount for our anticipated direction of travel in the next few years, it would confirm where the true balance of power now lies at Goodison, and frankly would send a very powerful message out to fans and competitors alike that we mean business and are willing to make the decisions necessary to be successful."

Thanks for highlighting this Finners, since I wrote this the details of the agreements for Moshiri to acquire BK, JW and Abercromby's shares have come to light. That for me, confirms that all the power now sits with Moshiri and I would expect therefore the chances of Martinez seeing beyond the end of the season at Goodison have reduced significantly.

It died. Aged 17. Apology not needed. Its fun on here and doesn't stretch me at all. Cats are good...preferable to dogs any day of the week.
Our family cat (Gertrude her name was), lived to 17 as well. At the end her liver started packing up and Dad took her to the vet to spare her further suffering. We buried her beside the big jakaranda tree at the bottom of the garden...it was in deep purple blossom .

Sorry to hear that mate.
Time to get back on topic now though

Moshiri has got to be a cold hard decision maker working for Usmanov and having his total trust as he does.

He will definitely have Bill in his ear trying to defend Martinez if those discussions are or do talk place soon, but I can see him calling the shots on this based on Martinez's record the last 2 years, and that would mean adiós.

Moshiri will have no sentiment here, he's spent a lot of money and plans on spending more to have a successful team and well run club.

I find it hard to believe Martinez won't be gone by the time it comes to Moshiri making significant cash available for transfers this summer.

Great news mate.

Btw where is that info you mentioned?

hope he starts with some big statements like Rom is going nowhere and Roberto given his P45

@MoutsGoat i replied in other thread, but I didn't realise it was the replacement thread, that I was quoted on.

Anyhow my thoughts on money spent = league position is....

The wage table alone blows out the water the claims of wage bills having ANY impact on league placing.

It does and just talking about what's been spent doesn't wash either, for example I guarentee I could vault some of Martinez' biggest fans from the RS thread on forum 4 saying they've wasted so much money on crap signings (I 100% agree) but if you then return to the money spent table, they'd say 'yeah but we haven't spent what Liverpool have'

So they want it both ways, wanna hammer Liverpool for buying, in the main, way overpriced players and then to defend Martinez they'll say, 'yeah but look at what they've spent'

The other argument is the market value of our current squad, which I think is a fairer way to look at it, for example Barkley, Stones, Deulofeu and Lukaku cost Everton £2m pound more than what Benteke cost, but the moneyball folk amoungst us, where £ spent = points gained would fail to knowledge that sort of sense.

Great news for Everton and thanks for keeping us in the loop.

I think if Moshiri keeps him and we are struggling next season he'll be under fire from the fans straight from the off. He ain't the 'world's biggest blue' so he won't be let off the hook like Kenwright has over the years.
