I love how Martinez's ambition for Champion's League is now being thrown back in his face because he actually set a tough expectation for himself.

Shame on him for raising expectations among the masses.

Much rather have a dour soul in charge patting us on the head telling us we are punching above our weight.
If he'd been half a decent manager he'd have had top 4 this season.

If you look at Martinez record in the Prem it is bad, very bad, he had a good season with Moyes handing him a good squad well drilled in a system but since has managed to school that out of them, his coaching staff are a joke, all from the lower leagues, all staff he's kept with him from when he started out, all not good enough to coach top players.

I could go on but I won't, enough is enough now.

Unutterably fed up

No consistent game plan. Baffling subs. Players clearly unfit.

Like a rubbish version of city of late 00s arsenal. Arrogant enough to turn up and think our talent will see us through. Teams with decent game plans and good players ensure that isn't the case

Sad thing is at the start of the season a had clear game plans against Southampton and Chelsea and itnworked. We then reverted to aimless all out attacking

Can't believe I defended him for so long. Glimmers of something greater were just that, glimmers. He has made watching Everton a chore. I have tickets for all home games this season but I don't really want to go

Nobody likes to see everton turn up and play like cowards. But we showed so much more fire in the chelsea and man city games then we have in 2016 in the league.

So we've clearly decided we don't care about the league, we're only going to show actual desire in the cups.

If we win a cup then fair play, it's worked. If we don't than it's utterly disgraceful and the manager should go.

It's the same as moyes throwing an anfield derby. Anything less than as trophy win in return isn't good enough. But I'm willing to let him try and get that trophy.

If true, and I did say "If", that sentence right there should be enough on its own, never mind any cup win, to seal the manager's fate!

On the note of coaching staff, Inaki Bergara (GK coach) is really highly rated it would seem... read that in an interview about the staff when Martinez joined us.

The rest - nah, not worth, jib them off.

Did the interview say, phenomenal, great moment of coaching, top goalkeeping coach in world football? If so then we know where the source came from, do not trust!!! lollollol

Seriously does anyone feel we will win the cup? Based on our current form do we think we can beat United or west ham in a high pressure game?

I really can't see it. Sacking him improves our chances of a cup win. You just know we will make a defensive balls up at some point and get punished.

It's a disgrace regardless. There is zero excuse for a team of our ability to not be arsed about the league. I could understand if we were competing in Europe too or had suffered a load of serious injuries, but this is not the case.

Ever been in a discussion with someone thats turned a bit heated where you have taken a stance and refused to move from your point of view even though you know your talking rubbish? You cant give in though as you've painted yourself into a corner and the climb down will be embarrassing. All you can do is stick it out and hope for stalemate.

That to me is Martinez defenders. There's no logic in it anymore. The barrel has well and truly been scraped. We are a crap team under him. Its as simple as that.

I think we can beat anyone on our day and especially in the cup I think we will beat whoever we face. Unfortunately though it seems just one off games is where he can tactically set up a team to get the right result and cup games don't take place 38 times through a season.

I'm with you btw, I would sack him right now, this morning and by lunchtime have someone in who can squeeze a further 70% out of the lads because he sure as hell isn't getting any more than 30% from them.

If a vast majority of the fan base are sick to the back teeth of him, we can be sure that there must be one or two players thinking the very same.

Was a 0-0 at worst. Neither side conjured up much. Their goal was a mistake, granted, but jags was superb as was Stones. Baines' distribution at times looked like it was back on the money.

There is no doubt we are lacking confidence. We need wins in these next three games (obviously).

Great to see Deu back too.

Gaz Baz was a big miss, reinforcing the view by many that we desperately need reinforcements at CM.

It certainly wasn't a terrible performance, a typical Utd away performance if anything and one we have become accustomed to for the last 20-odd years.

i really don't know if we watched the same match.
We offered absolutely nothing yesterday. Once we conceded we looked exactly like we did against Arsenal.
And let's be honest that's not quite the same United team as before.

lol

No we couldn't. We're 12 in the league for a reason. A lot of it is down to the manager who has to go, but the players quite clearly aren't as good as some make them out to be.

Proven by Coleman attempting to clear the ball with his right foot, with a player waiting to score behind him, when he could have just cleared it simply with his left. The players make mistakes week in week out that cost us. It's not all on the manager.[/QUOTE]

Ultimately though the buck stops with the bloke who picks the team, is responsible for coaching them and the tactics on the pitch, and finally for some of the bizarre substitutions we have witnessed!

While that would've been funny - nah, I don't remember where, but the article claimed he's one of the better goalie coaches in England!
