Top Keeper, Pienaar esq Left Winger and maybe another midfielder and we'll have the quality IMO.

During the Moyes years, there seemed to be plenty of times we were 'a couple of pieces away' from being competetive enough to break the top 4 monopoly. We always complained about the lack of support from the board. My impression was that Kenwright was willing but unable to give us that little bit extra. Moshiri, on the face of it, is able to give us that kind of funding. We'll have to wait and see how willing he is.
Off the pitch, again, just my impression, he definitely seems to have more business acumen than Bill to take us forward.

Aye mate that's why i agreed they where historically quite a big club, was more trying to highlight how many of our fans seem to not realise just how big a club we actually are ourselves.
Will admit i am arrogant about Everton though, seen this club be the best arguably in the world, once you've seen that then the expectation is always high - as it should be for us all

City, in some ways i cant stand, but they are a big club. They are like leeds in the way that they should have won more than they did, and had a glamour period, over the years they have had cracking support, that should never be over looked

Brother lived in Manchester for years when he went to Uni their and after mate, so met a fair few City fans and always foudn them back then to be just like us really, thankfully been spared the 'new fans' that came with the success which may colour my view on them now.

Agree completely, I live in bolton and work in Manchester, they are the only fans a can bare to talk footy about, they seem more grounded and aware of my clubs history, and i respect that.
But as you say, these new city fans are bad, i dont really count them, can spot them a mile off.
Im amazed at how many peope just presume Newcastle are much bigger than Sunderland, not for me.

Just being able to compete in the transfer market and be in a position to progress is all I'm realistically looking for. I don't expect to be bankrolled like City but we are not skint anymore which is a massive improvement for us already.
Get the business side sorted first. The likes of UEFA will bend over backwards to leave wriggle room in the FFP for the favoured TV clubs but we wouldn't have a chance.
I'd hate for us to be like City where even the "Academy" players are all foreign - especially when they'd previously had a decent track record for giving a chance to local(ish) lads. My dream scenario would be one or two top players every window with a very strong academy pumping out local(ish) talent - even the one's who don't quite cut it can be sold for decent money.

Won't FFP stop us from "doing a city " anyway? I want all the dead wood gone and replaced by two big signings and promising youth players... Dead wood is Gibbo, hibbo, osman, Kone, aiden, stevie p, mirrallas ( assuming Martinez still won't play him) , and Howard. I would want the big signings to be a GK and mirrallas replacement. And the others to be replaced by young players. And before anyone says that it's to big a clear out and all that.... Apart from Howard and Kone .. None of these players have played any part in this season... And the part Howard has played is the reason that he should be leaving along with Kone.
