When did the team have confidence? They started getting booed halfway through the first match of the season, and haven't yet won two league matches in a row. This team has looked nervous since the 3-6 Chelsea loss at the beginning of last season.

Dunno mate, they looked like they had a bit of confidence when they came storming back to take the lead against Stoke and were battering them before Super Timmy 'Murica started doing breakdancing tutorials on the edge of his six yard box to let them back into it

Commands his area and constantly talks to defenders, building a level of trust and confidence between the back four and keeper which is severely lacking when Howard has been there.

Before Jags got injured, he was ridiculously good.
He's now back, and right now, bang in form.
We all don't appreciate Jags enough.

To me Jags looks, and is slower since coming back great reader of the game though, Fumes Mori is covering the cracks at the back imo!
Oviedo is better at left back defensively too!
also they all have confidence in Joel where as in Tim howard they were scared to pass the ball back!"

ya cant defend his recent form but the Cat has been a Grand servant for us and doesn't deserve abuse from a load of balloons who probably have trouble standing up straight!
