Roberto Martinez discussion

I think even his biggest critics will concede that Martinez makes good purchases.

I'd have 100% trust in him to spend the cash wisely. And most others would too. His record rivals Moyes - allowing for the time period differences and inflation.
Niasse is one to judge him with in regards to spending a lot of cash on a player - if he makes an impact and is a success my faith will be restored.

Joey Barton hit the nail on the head for me. If our star players demand to leave I don't trust Martinez one bit spending the excessive amount of cash we'd likely receive.

I don't want Martinez but I can't argue that he hasn't got a good eye for a player. It's the managing of them once he's got them I have the issue with.

Todays question of the day.

Your Roberto Martinez, you have 7 players on the bench :

1 is an ex Barca superstar
1 is a badly turd GK
1 is the best LB in the league
1 is a bad kopite grass
1 is an injury prone player that plays in reverse
1 is the worst player to ever grace a football pitch
1 is a player capable of match winning goals

Which 1 do you bring on to win the game, a prize to whoever picks the correct answer first.

May I guide you to the 'search this thread' facility where you'll find my paltry 2,000 posts on the subject.

Points since the beginning of last season til now (64 league games in total):

Spurs - 115
Liverpool - 100
Southampton - 100
Stoke - 90
Swansea - 83
Everton - 82
Crystal Palace 80
West Brom - 76

Defend that. I think he's had enough time to get it right now.

Yeah but those stats don't matter, we are the entertainers and on the cusp of something......eventually..... when we string a few wins together....or win a couple at home.....against somebody outside of the bottom 3...or something like that.

assuming a catastrophic brain injury to the manager I think he'd go with "the worst player to ever grace a football pitch" ?
