...funny, seemingly the first season 'wonder run' can be used as a benchmark for his genius, yet the WIGAN years and the results & standings since are discounted.

Weird really.

Fully agree, we can't use cold hard facts, people have to use what suits their agenda. He got through last season because of his first season, now this season because of two seasons ago. It all comes down to what people are happy with. I want top 6, I don't think he can deliver it. If people want top 10 with the odd bit of exciting football mixed with tippy tippy and dodgy defending. Then fair enough.

Do you think they correlate 1 to 1? Taking results gained at our club surely is a 1000x more tangible evidence. Strange argument to hold onto when you can simply use our stats and make a case. Having said that let's see what happens in regards the rest of the season and with the takeover then people's opinions will actually mean a little more of something as the results will be in.

Look, it seems to me that there's two competing truth's on the manager here and never the twain shall meet, apparently:

Some are dropping statistics over a certain spread of home games that are less than flattering (and I agree, they are woeful figures, as was last season's home form).

However, that's more than evened out by an overview of the major structural performances and issues in his time thus far here: we do have a manager who has delivered on building a strong squad; we do have a manager who has these players playing some of the best football we've seen for years and years; we do have a manager who has proven beyond doubt his ability to get a solid season (and record breaking one) out of these players.

Those statements are both true and dont contradict each other. They run in parallel to each other, is all.

There's no need for the constant insults in this thread if we can all nod in agreement with that ^^^ .

Diluting Moyes squad.

You labelled last season's champions as a 'non-footballing side'. Villa are tosh, yes, but they're a Premier League side and no game in this league is easy, as proved by Sunderland yesterday.

Bare in mind the season was only four games in when we beat Chelsea as well, it's not like they were in the middle of their November/December slump.

We play Arsenal in a few weeks at home, I bet you'd call them a non-footballing side if we beat them.

Ok mate x
