Roberto Martinez discussion

The best crack was people 'worrying' that he was going to get the Inter job - rumours that surfaced after three wins against Stoke, Newcastle and Carlisle.

This is the biggest job he will ever get.
Spot on and unluckilly for him is that there are not many chairman around like we have that will be taken in by him.
The proof is in the pudding he destroyed wigan and is taking us backwards

He kept the winning side as the starting 11, which people in here wanted him to do

We dominated, hit the post twice.

WBA offered nothing going forward. It's clear that Kone brings out the best in Lukaku. Anything coming into the Box was being snuffed out because A) WBA play 4 CBs, B) our wide boys offer nothing physical at the back post of crosses. Put as many wingers as you want on, they'll beat that first CB one on one but have nothing to aim at. That's why he brought Kone on. It was absolutely the right sub to make of all the options. Niasse would probably have been the one to come on had he been fit.

We got Tony Pulis'd as many teams have over the years. We played well. For one, I'm really enjoying the evolution of Coleman into this RB/ACM hybrid. The opponents just can't pick him up.

Hindsight is a beautiful thing but I think it's clear Pulis knew we'd go with the same 11. Perhaps Baines and Pienaar would have been a better option to try and unlock them but, again, we have very little to aim at in the CF position.

We're going round in circles on here. We win, he stays, people moan and people glorify him. We lose, he stays, people moan and people sugarcoat him.

This thread has absolutely no point whatsoever. We can't fire him so what use is it arguing over something we will NEVER have ANY control over?

Lukaku?

The opposition do not care if we dominate. They genuinely don't. In fact, if you come to Everton and let us have the ball, you're delighted about it - we will eventually beat ourselves and give you at least one goal.

How on earth is Kone the right option at all at the moment? Simply because he is a registered centre forward? What does it matter? Any CB that sees him come on instead of Del or Mirallas is utterly delighted - you just wait for Kone to turn into trouble, or give the ball away, or shoot miles off target. He's not the right sub at the moment as he is in woeful form and offers us nothing. You could put Funes Mori up front as a target for long balls and he would offer more than Kone at the moment.

The home support are absolutely sick of the tosh being served up at the moment - Cleverley for a full hour? Kone as the first sub? If he'd have brought Del on at half time, or started with Mirallas, instead of these barely-good-enough-for-Wigan horrors and we still hadn't won, you could accept that it was just not to be. But he should be annihilated for the form over the last 60 odd matches.

Against 3/4 CBs? As yesterday proved, there will only ever be one winner.

Could make that argument about any striker in the league. How is Aguero going to score against an entire back 4?

The answer is the service he gets from midfield allows him chances. You need to move an entrenched back 4 like that. Shuffling passes side to side and looking for a floated cross is pointless. Until we have a midfielder in the Arteta mode who can add some creativity we will continue to lose or draw these games. Two DMs at home v a team not interested in coming out is ridiculous.

I've had enough of bob.

Really like the bloke and he gets Everton but after 2 seasons of garbage he needs to go.

The stats don't lie and he's massively underachieving. His answer when asked was he underachieving was so irritating. Saying this team hasn't won anything therefore how can it be underachieving.

Squad like that and we're losing at home to Swansea and west brom.

Time to go.

You're right mate. In fact, what's the point of this whole forum? Or the internet even?

Is it not a factor yesterday that west brom game plan included man marking lukaku out the game and stop him getting the ball in dangerous positions??
