Roberto Martinez discussion

So you wouldn't consider sacking him on the basis that a new manager might actually do something with this side and still get us into Europe next season somehow, instead of producing the mentally poor run of results we have endured for over 18 months with this guy?

He might do worse too? I don't think February is the time for such decisions. Our options are far more limited this time of year too. In the summer there will be more managers to choose from if we go that way.

Not everything has to be "give it to me now". There is still things to play for, nothing is written in stone.

This at least, I agree with.

Yep that was a bit embarrassing the way Baines was so sheepish about what we do ( or more to the point the lack of what we don't do ). He said something similar before the 1st leg against City about tactics ( or lack of them ) as well.

and has been pretty much benched as soon as oviedo was fit after he made those comments... interesting

Pretty much, yes.

We gonna win the FA Cup? No. We'll go out by dominating our way to a defeat against somebody poo, likely Bournemouth, or get outclassed by City or simply spawned out by the RS.

League is over. Let's just get our 40/42 points.

Unless mathematically we can't do that they would keep saying it. 13 games to go it might not be over but we can predict what is likely to happen at this rate plus based on the history of results in the past 18 or 19 months.

I am hoping things can be turned around but not likely because the team keep dropping points (lost) at home against poor (supposed) oppositions like West Brom, Swansea, Stoke and the Foxes etc (oh they might win the league).

I am against the manager. His results have been piss poor for 2 seasons. Why should it be put up with? Problem really is the board are happy so long as we are in the Premier League. No ambition from them makes its way down to people like you, who are happy to see us humbled on a bi-weekly basis by utter turd such as Stoke, Swansea and West bloody Bromwich Albion. I want him gone, and many join me in that. If you're happy to see us sit mid-table and lose nearly every home game, so be it. Look up "ambition". Can you relate to that?

You were against Moyes for 10 years too. Who do you want to manage us? Fergie ffs?

Now your argument is confused, you're blaming the board firstly, and then the manager? Which is it?

Yep it's too late in the day to sack him now. If we were going to do it I would have wanted him gone day 1 of the transfer window open just in case a new manager had new ideas.

He will be given until the end of the season that's for sure but beyond that I would be very surprised it he's in charge next season under new ownership barring an fa cup win and a bucket load of wins.

So the "better the devil you know" point of view? Despite the devil actually stinking the house out for over a year and a half. A very interesting viewpoint!

I seem to remember a manager coming in February when Smith was sacked, can't really say it had a negative effect, in fact it actually brought some purpose to the players, which is something we seem to be sorely lacking at present too.
