Roberto Martinez discussion

Of course it was the palyers who failed to perform today but RM did not do his bit, in my opinion.

Who did not groan when Kone came on? And where did he play - not up along Lukaku but on the left
hand side and for that job - Miralles every time. Or play Del Boy on the left and leave Lennon on.

Don't know how he can defend his substitutions today, I really don't.
He took off the only player who got behind their defence time and time again. WHY? FFS!!

Jibbing him off now wouldn't, it would put us into the same bust boom cycle of the clubs that fire and hire too often.

It would be a cast iron guarantee we'd lose more of our talented young players this summer than we would with him in charge.

Hmmmmm yes, as he's doing a bang up job with them isn't he? No wonder they love him, they never have to win games!

I'm off to paint the cat or something useful, I hate Everton.

I expect Everton to finish mid table and have done for the whole season...so I'm not fuming over the results, they are pretty much bang on what I expected. Next year will be similar

Fully agree, West Brom are 3 points behind us, it's not a fluke. This season and last are plenty enough games to see a bigger picture, some good attacking football and beating Stoke easy are not enough to gloss over the actual facts.

we were unlucky today as west brom never attempted to play typical smash and grab.

what make me angry us the substitutions that were made were baffling and uninspiring which has been a common theme through out the season as well as sucide defending at times.

But he still comes up with incredibly phenominal crap post match interviews like he was at s different game

Frustrating at best

Lennon hadn't contributed much in the second half mate. Cleverley either.

I wouldn't have put Kone on personally but he's a much better manager than I am hence him earning the big bucks.

Sometimes in sport it just doesn't go your way, despite being much better than the opposition.

Today was one of them days.

Likelihood is it wasn't gonna be one of our days mate fair enough, but christ bringing on a player with rock bottom confidence in kone and leaving on McCarthy most of all for 80 odd minutes just seemed mental.

As for Lennon - thought he still looked dangerous any time we got the ball to him in the second half a swell - just think we failed on getting it to him a much as the first half

At some point 'today was one of them days' does become more than a bit of luck though and becomes a trend that shows intrinsic flaws surely?

As for the manager always being in a better position to judge - use that theory then no manager will ever really fail mate as they know whats best for the team - sometimes they just plainly get it wrong and its plain to see.

When as a fan we are sitting here and able to predict kone and osman coming on which was predictable - and pullis likely knew it too, its a bad sign, he's being reactive rather than proactive and stubbornly sticking with ideas he has in his head coming into the game rather than watching whats going on during the game

That's what he gets paid a wedge for mate. Mix it up different subs I don't know but just tryna pass it in the net when we're chasing the game doesn't work

Interestingly Barkley should have got closer with his late chance rather than taking it first time. For me anyway.

The subs I agree with. I don't really ever want Kone on the pitch ever again.

'Mix it' is basically code for 'play the long ball' which clearly wouldn't work against a team like that.

I don't know the answer either. But I'm finding total blame on the boss hard today.
