Who would you have played in his place yesterday?I've said all season that he might be playing extremely well but is it in the team's interests he plays as much as he does?
Would be nice to see a variation and what that would bring. Worth trying because I doubt we'd see ourselves done any worse than 1 win in 9.

McCarthy is injured, Cleverley coming back from one - just leaves either Osman or Gibson unless we play an academy lad.
Hes been our most consistent player this season and is statistically the top performer in that roleI've said all season that he might be playing extremely well but is it in the team's interests he plays as much as he does?

McCarthy and Besic need to be blended in now for the future - not saying drop Barry , but have him for certain games or on the bench etc 3 games a week at his age is telling!
this should be done when we have a full squad to choose from of course!
But we've had injury problems all season, Cleverley was out for ages, Mccarthy and Besic have had persistent issues too. Gibson is ironically probably the only one who was fit and could have stepped in recently but his FA cup display hardly screamed that he's the solution. Not yesterday in particular, just the season as a whole. Usually when you're not winning games the manager mixes it up a bit to try and solve that.
Just think it might be worth doing that on the off chance we might find some form.

And solution that what, up until the past couple of games Barry has been one of our best performers each match, frequently MOTM - why would dropping him have improved our game? Especially as Jags and Baines were out so we'd have had very little experience on the pitch.
Don't need to look anywhere past the goalkeeper for our problems. Also McCarthy isn't as intelligent as Barry in covering the fullbavks or stones when they go galavanting. Barry by far the least of the issueJust looking for answers as to why we've won 1 in 9... Wouldn't hurt to rotate him at least once at 35 years old. Who knows, maybe a Besic and McCarthy combination could work.
