I wouldn'y, for the price you pay, I want to see good football. There has to be a balance, if we were playing 1-0 wins/losses every week playing ultra defensive football, barely creating any chances, you would be happy with that? Sorry, but I don't believe you.

If i want entertainment I would watch a film, play a game or watch a neutral game, I dont watch Everton for entertainment, Everton isnt a hobby, its my life.

Give me 1-0 every week, rather than draws and exciting defeats.

That would mean we are PL Champs, in the CL and everyone cheering I think.

The reason we leak goals is the utter fraud in goal, swearing and shouting at Everton fans, star jumping, patting balls instead of catching, so yes, thats on Martinez, but to imply that the "defensive system" doesnt work is a complete lie, we play with mostly 2 screening DMs, 1 floats but as a defensive unit we play with 7 defensive players.

Just because we might have the numbers doesn't mean we have an efficient defensive system though does it? We all know we have some decent defensive players in the team. What they need is drilling as a unit. In short a "defensive system".

Part of this system of course would include a keeper that breeds confidence rather than all-out blind panic.

We always seem to be 1 sh1t player away from being the complete package.

We struggled for a RB for years, then we found Coleman, then we struggled for a striker since Yaks breakthrough season, now we have the Anti-Jesus in goal.

Smells like Everton.

Walks like Everton

By heck it is Everton.:)

Bad nobs on here harking back to the successful Moyes years cracking one off and enjoying themselves ! TITS!

Didn't rate moyes massively and I certainly don't rate Martinez highly either. Anyone who lived through the Kendall years of the 80's should appreciate that winning breeds confidence and confidence breeds quality performances.

What we are seeing now is nothing of the like.

I fully agree with all that. We're not far off a very competitive team, but the defence needs discipline and organisation. The first act is to replace the GK with Robles. Minimum. Not ideal, but better. No doubt it'll take until summer 2016 to finally get Howard out and a decent first team GK in. By that time we'll also need to sort out a dominant CB too.

Martinez has time though. I'm pretty sure about that. As long as there's no repeat of last season's slide there's simply going to be no appetite to replace him. He's got five year deal that he'll see out at the very least.

Yes what do you make of an interim signing like Vidic? I think something has it give with Howard and it would be a huge statement to the rest of the team, that conceding cheap goals won't be tolerated.

As for Robles I admit there is a huge disparity of opinion on him. While I think some is justified scepticism I can't help but some is because he played for Wigan so people have made their minds up he's rubbish. Whenever I've seen him I like him. Has good hands and is a really good size and build for a goalkeeper. His performance in the derby last season for example was very assured and very good. Thats the most assured I've been with us defensively under Martinez and in any goalkeeper we've had since Nigel Martyn.

He may not be the saviour but as I said last year we will only know once he is given a run. All I can say for certain is Howard is not the solution and never will be. If we give Robles half a season we will at least have found out if he's any good.

And yes there is no desire to get rid of him. I suppose the question is should there be a desire to get rid of him, and should we be attacking the board for not doing so? In my opinion I think it's a good thing the Everton board by in large understand the need to give people space and time to implement their vision/
