Roberto Martinez discussion

They wait like muggers to pounce on our teams misfortunes. Sorry, I can't be doing with that. It's dishonest and it's a disgrace. I'm just made up Martinez will be here a long long time. He's brought a level of attacking football not seen since HK I days. Get rid of that nobhead GK and it's upwards and onwards.
If he could change the highlighted word in your post to winning you would have the backing of all on here.

Will excitement deliver success or high scoring defeats? - 'great adverts for English football'

You conveniently missed the word "young" from @davek's statement.

That means they will get better. They need time to do that though.

Time is not something many of you are seemingly prepared to give, instead wanting to vote Martinez out because their XFactor tits.

Then what? Get a new manager. Give our best young players agents the go ahead to agitate for a move. Get new manager to shuffle everything. Start all over again.

Rinse and repeat. Worked for Villa, Newcastle, Spurs and the other clubs similar to us though hasn't it?

The thing about this thread is if we win the next 8 games 9-0 each, Ian will still want Martinez out and if we lose the next 8 games 9-0 each Dave will still think he's the second coming of christ.

So what's the point?
I'll guarantee you we won't if we win the next 3 games I will remove my avatar if we win 8 in next 11 games I'll get his name tattooed on me.

Not happening though.

Don't reckon it's as talented as people make out in all honesty. We have world class, genuine world class, in Stones, Lukaku, Del, Baines. Some of the others I think we overrate as Evertonians a bit, especially McCarthy and Coleman, and Barry is no spring chicken anymore. Cleverly and Kone are some of our starting players. Is it really that good as we make out? Not sure.
Its better than most of the other teams in the premier league.
Look at watford or stoke they have a lot worse squads than us but are managed properly.

Martinez continued: “Overall we showed an incredible reaction to come back and get in front but at 3-2 we should have managed the game a lot better.

“It is the hardest thing to do, to get back on level terms, then get ahead. It was a real blow to lose the third goal but clearly we have to become stronger defensively.

“There are certain actions we have to defend a lot better and, as a team, we have to get more mature. We have to be wiser in protecting that lead.”

Well work on it and fix it then!!!

Not Howards fault today, Naismith back pass, came out several times, saved a couple and was brave enough to do what cost us so much last time in tackling the forward and succeeded, undone by some great goals and terrible defending today. Thought he did alright tbh.

Not just about today though is it.

Maybe make up a list of "replacement" managers? Then tear it up again when we get our next result.

It must be so frustrating for you and the others. Martinez has the full backing of the everton board and is manager for however long he wants basically. Its time to get behind our manager and his developing young team he's putting together not constantly undermine them.

I look forward to the usual suspects going missing very soon. Honestly, I don't know why you bother.

Thank god for that everton board.

There's definitely something to be said for team cohesion and playing for eachother, something Leicester are doing right now. There's a spine about them. We'll get there.

The way we play at home is suicidal. We've only won 3 games so far. One against a crap Chelsea who every one was beating, one against Sunderland and one against villa. The last two were against the two worst teams in the league by a mile so we got away with it with the way we set up. Sunderland had alot of chances and had they had a couple of decent players could have scored a few more. Villa are just crap. Any other team coming to Goodison stands a good chance of winning in my eyes. I'm not confident of winning home games anymore.

I love how we attack. Barkley and Lukaku are just superb and our best players by far. But defending like we do just cant go on.
