Roberto Martinez discussion

I look forward to reading through this kneejerk and hopefully finding a few moderate opinions when I get back from work in 9 hours

my confidence has been shot down. I dont really have any expectations anymore. Way too inconsistent. We play beautiful footy every now and then but we wont be winning anything this season. Season over.

Well since you thought me saying there's more positives than negatives in his tenure was absurd, how about you address that...
Nope. I can't tell you what to think. If you can't subjectively look at the past 18 months since then it's pointless. We have won 11 or 12 games all calendar year to put that into context Villa have won 6 and Newcastle 7 and I wouldn't take one of their players.

Utter fraud. It's turning out his first season is the fluke.

I see people defending Martinez, saying he's going about it the right way, he's bringing a young team, imprinting his ideas throughout the club and all that other bull.

The man can't organise a defense, he maintains on playing a complete liability week in week out. Do you think we're going to keep the quite obvious talent we've got whilst we continue to toil around mid table? Absoloutely not.

We've gone backwards since Moyes. I'd hope he'd build on Moyes' strengths and take us forward. He hasn't done that.

Our defending is poor! Today, 3-2 up we should have won the match. No excuses for that style and risks that come along with it. He's got good ideas but we don't have the money to sign the sort of players his ideas demand. We have some nice ofensive moves but we are equally inept when it comes to defend a result.

Moyes didn't have such a shiny game plan, but showed results with much less financial support from the board. And he only had one striker scoring goals in one season (Yakubu). Imagine his last team with Lukaku instead of Jelavic or Anichebe.
Good to see you posting lid.

Completely outplayed a massively in-form Stoke there comfortably without hitting top gear at any point bar the turnaround for 3-2. The performance we put in in every department bar defence should have been enough to see a good side off comfortably. The problem remains the same. A 19 year old centre back having to fill in at left back due to an exceptionally unfortunate LB injury situation and a massively inexperienced centre back pairing, due to an injury.

ALL we have to do is get the first choice back 4 back together. We haven't had the chance to put it out once this season and have often had 3/4 of it injured. It's unbelievably frustrating and it's ruined our first half of the season. It's not over yet, mind. If we tighten up at the back we will win game after game after game. We've got the attacking side down. We just need to (please, God) not see Galloway and the Stones-Mori partnership in the league for a long time.

When the actual [Poor language removed] is Jagielka back ffs? I can't watch us with this defence any more. You can't have 3/4 of your defence having an average age of 21 in the premier league.

Or he should've invested in an experienced centre half for next to nothing..

He was trying to buy Scott Dann for £10million when someone like Robert Huth went for £3million. He spent a ridiculously on Funes Mori - who I do like, but he's a future prospect - rather than someone who will do a job to cover injuries.

He needs to wake up and smell the coffee. No nonsense, hard as nails CB is blatantly the issue for two seasons. We've not replaced Distin and this is the biggest mistake, the likes of John terry are slow as a carthorse, but there's a reason he's been in the Chelsea sqaud - organisation and taking no s**t. If he doesn't sort this by January, we're done until the next manage arrives.

So Clattenburg has never screwed as over?

We have never had dodgy penos given against us to beat us?

Oh thats right, Martinez brought that with him from Wigan.
Clattenburg derby that he's so hated for, other than that, i'm not sure what you mean. Did you think that we we got more than our share of pens before Martinez or something? Remember Andy Johnson?

I understand what you are saying and agree to a large extent. However Jags and Baines are getting on and the time will come for them to be replaced but who with new signings or bring up the likes of Galloway who is repeatedly played out of position. I know I will get shot down for this but I was against Garbutt going out on loan,

And they'll stay if we fire Martinez?

You haven't thought this through mate. It's why I'm here to help you all.
Maybe a new manager will bring some different tactics that aren't 5 years out of date, and we can start playing winning football. Years ago people tried copying this barca total football without the players to do it. Every manager knows how to play us now, only the manager and coaching staff can't see it.
