Roberto Martinez discussion

I'm putting a big Geordie mirror in front of the Geordie beauts hoping that when they see their own reflection they'll be embarrassed and revert back to being Evertonians.

Not quite sure what you are doing to be honest.

I'm judging him purely on results.

I wanted him when we went in for him. He won a trophy with Wigan, so for me was worth a go. Looked like he was going to be proper but that is a distant memory now.

18 months of poor results. If you are happy with that and think it is knee jerk, then you ain't paying much attention to the league table.

Clattenburg screwed us big time there today. Not a peep though. MARTINEZ!

You're right on that, but the problem is that we could just as easily have won 4-3 and I would still be pissed off that there is no consistency, solidity or certainty about our play.

We're not well organised, we don't close out games, we don't play in the manner needed to secure results. These are traits which only the manager can bear responsibility for.

What's this Geordie thing all about?

I can't imagine any other set of fans across the country not to be appalled the standard of defending right now. We are underachieving, we can't beat decent teams and he's got to do something quickly to sort it out.

I'm staunchly in favour of sticking with Martinez until at least the end of the season. He developed this talented squad, he deserves his chance to get it playing to the standard it should be.
Geordies are a load of self entitled fat beauts who go the game with an over inflated sense of self entitlement and thanks to be pressure they've put on their managers they've become tosh for a long, long time.

They also think they can transfer win the league with FIFA players.

Basically 80% of anyone who posts in here after a defeat.

Have never called for Martinez to be fired. Here is where I'm at. There needs to be a structural change in terms of defense. I'd prefer a reshuffle of the coaching staff ala Arsenal a number of years ago. I'd even settle for the January purchase of a new goalie or no nonsense defender. But for those wanting him sacked: who is the safe pair of hands that will build on the real attacking progress that we've enjoyed? We are not in danger of relegation (which was the case last season). I am raging at that shambles but I would keep him til the summer. Replacing him now could lead to a tailspin. Assess in the summer and change regime if needed deliberately. Sacking him because of defeat coming off a victory is asking for trouble while hoping for miracles.

Loads are having a go at clattenburg and he did have a dire game, though personally I think it was a penalty at the end, but you can't ignore our defensive problems entirely and just blame the ref. We're not as good as we should be. We'll be 11th tonight despite having one of the best attacks in the league.
