Roberto Martinez discussion

Do you want him fired now?

Why would I want Jelavic back?

There's a bunch of pissy panted girls on here who take out their personal self loathing on Martinez.

Geordie behaviour and you'll get exactly what you deserve: Newcastle.

FIRE HIM! HIRE HIM! SIGN ALL THE FIFA PLAYERZ.
I would get rid now pal he will only take us one way.
With the hard games coming up in january we will be in the bottom5/6.
If stoke and leicester can score 7 goals against us at goodison i worry about spurs and the like

I don't think any manager would be able to stop us "doing" an Everton. I feel we are always going to do stupid crap like that for eternity.

We choose to support the unluckiest club. As the saying goes, " if you make your bed, you sleep in it".

Surely some questions have to be asked though mate? Should be doing so much better with the players at his disposal. And certainly shouldn't be shipping 4 at home to Stoke.
Yes mate it's doing my head in too.

Absolutely nothing is dropping our way at the moment.

Clattenburg screwed us big time there today. Not a peep though. MARTINEZ!

Because some texans have been wound up expertly by @davek they've backed themselves into a corner and just look like Geordie tits shouting for the managers head despite the fact it wouldn't do Everton much good to replace him now.

We're better than this as fans. We're also better than this as a team.

We can't beat decent teams. It's there for all to see yet so many are blind to it.

It's why I couldn't believe the reaction against Newcastle, as though a corner had been turned and Martinez had silenced the critics with a last minute winner against one of the worst teams in the league.

We beat Newcastle due to Mitrovic missing an open goal.

Any half organised outfit is turning us over for fun. Even Ranieri said Everton are likely to beat themselves if you are patient and wait your chance.

We are conceding bucket loads against Stoke, a terrible Man U, Leicester, Bournemouth... it is criminal.

We are in a cup Semi. We have met one half decent team in the competition and needed pens at home to progress.

Times up.

His position is no different from the others. If he cannot get his job right, it comes under question. No self loathing involved, just an observation on the situation at our football club which we are all very passionate about.

You label everyone who disagrees with your view on things as the same champ manager, loving Geordie etc etc....it's boring and unnecessary. Thought you were a bit better than that, obviously not.

I think other managers would sort out that defence instantly.

Martinez has got to do something about it immediately... Hire a defensive coach, sign new players in January... It's absolutely killing us.

You're being too rhetorical here. Make as many Fifa, Football Manager, Geordie, wool, beaut and kid references as you want but the fact is that we're shipping goals for fun at home as well as away and it doesn't seem like stopping at all. Fans are right to be worried. Sacking him mid-season? Irrelevant, it won't happen, just as him being sacked at all is unlikely under Kenwright, but people are rightfully voicing their discontent. We need defensive change and it just isn't happening.

Bottom line - His making or breaking is the semi's against City - if we come through it (which seems difficult to conceive right now) he will earn his right to see the season out and see what happens - If we fall to city the fume on here will Bhopal-esque....

We could easily beat City over two legs. If both sides go at it the way they can it could be 8-6 or something.

Or we could have a blinder and turn on the style and blitz them 4-1 second leg or whatever. Cup games are strange in that the onus is on the win at all costs, and that's the football we play. That's well within the capability of this squad.

For me though, that doesn't redeem Martinez - if anything, it'd highlight just how woefully managed we are in the league. You have to manage games better to gain momentum.
