Roberto Martinez discussion

His position is no different from the others. If he cannot get his job right, it comes under question. No self loathing involved, just an observation on the situation at our football club which we are all very passionate about.

You label everyone who disagrees with your view on things as the same champ manager, loving Geordie etc etc....it's boring and unnecessary. Thought you were a bit better than that, obviously not.
I'm putting a big Geordie mirror in front of the Geordie beauts hoping that when they see their own reflection they'll be embarrassed and revert back to being Evertonians.

We beat Newcastle due to Mitrovic missing an open goal.

Any half organised outfit is turning us over for fun. Even Ranieri said Everton are likely to beat themselves if you are patient and wait your chance.

We are conceding bucket loads against Stoke, a terrible Man U, Leicester, Bournemouth... it is criminal.

We are in a cup Semi. We have met one half decent team in the competition and needed pens at home to progress.

Times up.

As true as anything you'll hear that.

The Cup Semi Final is just an absolute write off the way things stand. Our defence will get torn to shreds in at least one of the games against City unless something drastic happens between now and then.

Oh sorry mate. Just because someone used something that I think is an appropriate description doesn't mean I can't use it as well.
I'm not made up with Martinez, I think there are issues he needs to resolve. But I also think theres more positives than negatives in his tenure and that's why I'm posting in here.

We could easily beat City over two legs. If both sides go at it the way they can it could be 8-6 or something.

Or we could have a blinder and turn on the style and blitz them 4-1 second leg or whatever. Cup games are strange in that the onus is on the win at all costs, and that's the football we play. That's well within the capability of this squad.

For me though, that doesn't redeem Martinez - if anything, it'd highlight just how woefully managed we are in the league. You have to manage games better to gain momentum.

It's amazing what getting to a cup final or even winning one can do for a manager - just ask Bobby....

You're being too rhetorical here. Make as many Fifa, Football Manager, Geordie, wool, beaut and kid references as you want but the fact is that we're shipping goals for fun at home as well as away and it doesn't seem like stopping at all. Fans are right to be worried. Sacking him mid-season? Irrelevant, it won't happen, just as him being sacked at all is unlikely under Kenwright, but people are rightfully voicing their discontent. We need defensive change and it just isn't happening.
Way aye petal.

I think other managers would sort out that defence instantly.

Martinez has got to do something about it immediately... Hire a defensive coach, sign new players in January... It's absolutely killing us.

He can ask Moyes how to organise a defence in PL.

What's this Geordie thing all about?

I can't imagine any other set of fans across the country not to be appalled the standard of defending right now. We are underachieving, we can't beat decent teams and he's got to do something quickly to sort it out.

I'm staunchly in favour of sticking with Martinez until at least the end of the season. He developed this talented squad, he deserves his chance to get it playing to the standard it should be.
