I'd like to highlight the fact that you mention that you imagine the he is more B, rather than A and sometimes C. And that's my exact point...It's not just a case of running. You have to see if a player is a) running to fight for the ball when your team is not in possession, b) running to create space or c) just running around a lot without any real purpose. Without analysing his game I'd imagine Ozil's more 'b' (and sometimes 'c') than 'a'.
Many people have a preformed perspective of Ozil, which is often created by his personal demeanour and the reputation he holds.
Yet in fact he does a lot more on the pitch than people actually realise, and I'll admit I was once one of those who unjustifiably criticised him.
To be fair though, you're right about him being more of a B than a A. However he does get stuck in to play much more now than in the past.
While his movement on and off the ball (aspect B) is a huge part of Arsenal's style now, often finding space which he utilises to great effect.
