Martinez is wasting the best squad I've seen in years. His decisions are woeful.
The fact that Martinez has more resources available to him means the expectations are higher. Moyes was given an easy ride until the Chelsea Cup Final in my opinion. Having raised expectations and then failing to deliver it got progressively more difficult for Moyes. The same might now be happening to Martinez. Realistic expectations have risen substantially, so the pressure to produce is greater, and the consequences of failure are greater also.
Do you not think Moyes managing us to 4th in his second season raised the bar for him and pressure for him?

He has, but everybody elses spending power has increased too. In terms of the pecking order (in a financial sense) we're still about at the level we were under Moyes.
You know full well there's been no investment from the board, so the money we've had available has basically been available to all the other clubs.
According to my rough calculations, he's spent £10/11 million net per season so far. Hardly the stuff to give Citeh nightmares.
Hopefully he buys himself to us too
Wasn't his second, Dougie.
Can anyone not see how unhappy he is at United. He has done it all there now won every major club competition excluding World Cup (which he can win at Everton) any blue knows it's a dream to play for us and as he has got older he has realised this more an more and playing in the testimonial was the cherry on tha cake. It's nailed on he is coming back to us to win a cup, no matter how much money he has or how many cups he has won he has never won a cup at his club. As a blue he must dream daily about the possibility of winning a cup for us. He is in a real stage of panic now thinking of how an when it is going to happen, before it gets later. As time has developed and fans have forgive this has made the bond closer. He wants it just as much as us!!
We always said Rooney would return one day... And that day is near!!
Not particularly as Moyes' mantra (and the Board's) was 40 points. Even after 2005 he maintained that as the key objective, and the Board never challenged him to set the bar higher even though he comfortably out performed that standard.
Publicly it may have been his mantra, privately I'm sure his personal targets would have been a lot higher.
I'm alsosure the board would have pushed him harder the more they gave him to invest in players, like you surely would yourself?
