No wins in 4 though and only 2 in 10. Being unbeaten doesn't do much for me as a draw is barely better than a loss in my mind. I back Martinez but you can't pretend the run of form we're currently on is anything but atrocious.
  • One defeat in nine games
  • Comfortable mid-table slot to move off from
  • Cup final one step away
  • Best bunch of young players in the PL

For the fourth game in a row, I feel totally frustrated with this Everton team and the manager. I really don't get this attitude that we are playing dazzling football and are having no luck/have a crap keeper/are building a team for the future. We are where we deserve to be in the league. In the Capital One Cup we have beaten three lower league teams and gone through on penalties against a poor Premier League side.
The manager has to take responsibility for getting us up the table by winning some games sometime soon. He can't seem to set up a balanced team, motivate his players or manage a game through tactical or personnel changes during the course of a game.
Much to early to talk about sacking, but he has to improve by the end of the season or be prepared to explain himself at that point.
Sad, because I really like him.

Exactly how I see things mate. Too many times we have thrown points away through basic errors or poor defensive play and it's hampering our progress. Nothing seems to ever change and our weaknesses just don't seem to be addressed. We haven't moved on much from last year in my view.

@davek's prediction before the game

Big win for us. 3-0.

  • They will be taken seriously (half the success they've had is through opposition underestimating them)
  • We've got the sort of mobile defence that will snuff out their threat on the break
  • They're missing two of their five ever-presents - Drinkwater and Huth. Drinkwater, in particular, will be a massive miss as he's the pivot of that side from defence to attack
  • They're really not that good. The defence looks suspect, and with Huth absent it'll only get more flakey.
  • We are VERY tough to beat, as the form guide will tell you.
  • We are in the middle of a run of form that creates lots of chances and sooner or later they'll again (S'land/Villa) end up being taken and burying some team.
We'll win this for sure. The only question is by how much. Leicester are coming down to earth with a massive bump tomorrow.

@deipnosophists response

pipe down mate

No mate, sadly, you are the one who has lost it. Your imprimatur is leaking ink...(word to the wise mate...fix it)
"Martinez would fail the HR test to join my company"...Ha Ha Ha. FFS, read your stuff back to yourself. It's Alan Sugar-tosh.

WTF would Martinez want with your place anyway?

Dear me. I think I hear the sound of the bottom of the barrel being scraped here.

We have 10 from 27 in our last nine. That's relegation form. 4 wins and 5 losses would have been a better return so I'm not arsed about going undefeated.
