Roberto Martinez discussion

True. But you pointed towards if the keeper is crap at crosses then the whole defence is void!

But as a unit they should work on protecting the keeper and his weeknesses just like the whole team should with each others weeknesses and not just work on passing it about.
Leicester defence was ale house.
We did pass it about too much today, and should have just got right into them.

Just so I have this right. You're discrediting me by vaulting me in suggesting a manager that has THAT Newcastle squad/team the same pints we are behind the 'holy grail' of 5th placed Man UTD?

Did the stiff vaulting I gave you still rankle, Ian? You seem to be going on about it an awful lot.

Hey, remember this guy!?

Fingers crossed mate for the semis and even though there's a fair few who would like to see the back of Martinez I think it's safe to say we all want Everton to win.

Everyone's just got differing opinions especially with a poor run of results lately there's a lot of frustration and it's to be expected.

See how we get on at Newcastle anyway mate and take things from there
I think that's the way many fans think, but you know as well as I do there's no stomach for cutting Roberto loose by the owners. Rightly too, on two levels:

1/ Stevie Wonder can see we're building something very good here with this team. There'll be reversals yes, but that is to be expected and the board will accept that without question.
2/ This season above all others you have to stay in the PL for the cash about to come on stream. There's going to be no appetite for change if we're bumping about mid-table as we are right now for a new manager who could get it completely wrong and plunge us into the Championship.

We're actually well placed - you're not daft, you know it too. We've had a fairly up and down first half of the season but we find ourselves with a very good set of players playing great footy and a cup final to maybe prepare for.

In short: crisis, what crisis?

And *this* ladies and gentleman is what defeat looks like ^^^^
Serious question.
In his third season and we have won 5 games up to christmas.
We play for 45 minutes and thats it and can't defend.
The formation is all over the place with people covering.
Normal people admit he has a lot to learn but you are blind to him.
I reckon you have unhealthy feelings for him

more hyperbole. you want to talk about basic football while glossing over the fact our most experience defender who also happens to be the team captian would make a difference for us in terms of holding onto leads and committing silly mistakes?

Our defenders all need to be able to play the possession game with the midfield under RM - if you're referring to Jags then he is as bad as the rest in that respect. If you're saying that having Jags in the side last 4 games would have made a difference I'm not convinced.

Not so much the vaulting TBH it was the acceptance that it proved Martinez had been doing a good job on the back of it, despite you not mentioning him that annoyed me. Said more about the posters than you TBH I admire the time I'd 'rankled' you into spending on me.
