To date, Martinez' Everton has underperformed.

Great first season, despite the last minute bottle job. 10th last season, just. We're 10th now.

Our team last season, and team now is better than 10th.

If your content with 10th, your accepting that our ambition has regressed under Martinez.

The manager isn't getting the best out of his players.

The season isn't over yet - a lot to play, but he has to get his team to find consistency.

The next 7 weeks are crucial.

Did it really echo what you posted though?

You're emphasis was on points and that league position is not up to standard; his emphasis was on quality of performance and development of a group of players...though conceding ultimate satisfaction comes with taking the three points.

To me he's spot on as he's indicating the rebuilding of this squad this season and its potential for season's to come.

So he's actually contradicted himself. From the baffling 'points don't matter stance' to 'oh yes they do' in about twenty words. I'm neither for nor against him as yet, but I'd like him to be a bit clearer.
