Computer games.

Finally got an Xbox one yesterday, fallout is a proper brilliant game. I can understand somewhat the complaints about graphics but for me it adds a grittier feel to the game.

It still looks good. Style and scope wise it's amazing. Standing somewhere high and surveying the terrain for miles is ace.

It's just the tits. Can't believe both this and the witcher 3 came out this year. Almost makes up for the Persona 5 delay.

What games have you got your eye on for next season and what game have you not picked up yet from this year
I still haven't got around to playing Fallout 4, elder scrolls online and bloodborne and until dawn.

The ones I'm looking forward to next year is no man sky, FF15 and persona 15 and battleborn.

But the time will restricted me to only playing around 4 of the games over the next year. Plus we have horizon and the new mass effect.

2016 could be a special year

Without any question Uncharted 4 mate b

What's the bother mate?

Trying to play with a fluid formation. So i have kick off formation, in possession and not in possession formations. All well and good. But when I start moving the line up around and then go back and check it just moves my players wherever if feels like. I can't get them to stay anywhere. I end up with Deulefou playing left back etc.

I'm playing it with a non-fluid formation in the meantime. Any ideas?

Just bought fallout 4 for £29 new. Cheap considering it's not long out. Graphics look whack but the game should be ok. I imagine it's more of the same which is a bit disappointing but I love fallout so I'll suck it up.

For those saying graphics aren't that relevant compared to gameplay, they really should think about what makes a good game. Quality graphics add to a sense of immersion and immersive games allow the user to suspend their disbelief and engage with the narrative.

Anyway looking forward to vats a bandit in the head.

I had plenty of immersive fun on Commodore 64, Amiga, Megadrive etc not exactly 'real' graphics. I personally think that gameplay is way more important.

Look how well minecraft is doing.

Completely agree. I'd rather play Bomberman on the SNES with three mates than play the latest Call of Duty nonsense - tighter gameplay, more fun.

Weirdly, PGA Tour Golf II on the Mega Drive is my favourite golf game too; despite looking like crap it kicks the arse of the Tiger Woods titles IMO.

Hundreds more examples. If anything, the chase for graphics over the last decade has been harmful to getting gameplay right.

First of all, have you set a team for all 3 of the formations in fluid formation? Probably a stupid question, but if you haven't, you'll have the one formation you've set and the other two will be completely different default formations.

When you're setting the fluid formation, make sure you don't move the players too much. I tend to to just tweak it slightly. For example: for the in possession formation I'll push my full backs quite high up and maybe push the midfielders a bit higher. Whatever you do, don't switch players from one side of the pitch to the other because it'll throw everything off.

should be able to do both...

Misses the point that the C64 graphics were state of the art at the time and thus allowed suspension of disbelief. If they were ZX81 graphics the effect wouldn't be the same. Gameplay over graphics is not an either/or polarity of supremacy. Yes gameplay will always be crucial. The prettiest graphics in the world are meaningless if the game mechanics frustrates and isn't enjoyable to play. But rudimentary graphics lower immersion.
in this case familiarity with the game will raise it somewhat (I imagine the controls are much the same as the last fallouts) and as for gameplay it doesn't sound like they've added much. Base building?

I do set them for all 3. And then when I check they've all been moved around again. If I want mirallas as a RW on "in possession" and as a RW on "Kick off" and as a RM on "out of possession" why do they keep moving the players round and he'll be at LM on one and RW on another.

Maddening.

That's not a good comparison though.

In the same way that you wouldn't judge a film from 1980 alongside a 2015 film in terms of CGI you also don't judge a game from the 90s against a modern AAA title. You look at them compared to their peers. In that regard Fallout 4s graphics are disappointing.

Are you manually changing the formation in the game? If so, that has nothing to do with fluid formation and will completely bugger your formation. Once you've selected the fluid formation and set it you don't have to do anything else. Manually changing your formation and fluid formation are two completely different things.

Sorry if you already know this and I'm just confusing you.

In theory you can have 3 different fluid formations that you can switch on the fly in the game.

Finally been playing Fallout over the weekend. Probably around 6 hours or more into it over the three days and hardly scratched the surface i hope. I can praise it but three things that really bug me about the game;

1) The perk system. I like the system but some of them that upgrade to no radiation and breathe underwater?! Removes the immersive from the world, i know i don't have to pick them but 50 hours in, i'm going to want to swim underwater.

2) Fustrating deaths. There seems to be a split between power armour and no power armour in the game, and sometimes when they cross it spikes the difficulty massively. Came accross hangmans alley last night, peppered with molotov cocktails until one hit me. no warning either that it would happen.

3) Terrible autosave. Seriously, autosaves when you change a weapon but not when you have discovered 5 locations and killed a load of people on your way somewhere?

Other than that, its a great game, gunplay is better, love the idea of rubbish=gun mods , world is more populated, in these 6 hours or so found enough to do compared to fallout 3 that had you travel distances to find a mission or place of interest.
