Joel Robles

Has he bulked up? I haven't seen him for a good while because I haven't been watching the cup games, but he looks bigger, more athletic.

Amazing, the way you people describe Robles is he is some type of world class keeper.

Unfortunately, the man who makes the decisions and actually bought him still thinks an aging keeper who has seen better days is still better than him.

I'll be surprised if either Robles or Howard will be our number one keeper next year. Will be a new keeper I hope.

Same youth team as nuts Degea tipped then to make the grade - Degea when first put in the team at UNT their fans had their doubts - Robles needs a run in our team when Tim is playing poor - RM has stated his time will come!

Seriously, are you comparing De Gea to Robles?? What next, comparing McGeady to Ronaldo??

No that was a free hit, nobody expected them to win. In fact most thought it would be a cricket score to City.

It was a great achievement, but there was no pressure at all on Wigan and as such they could produce any performance and the media would have always given them a favourable report. This is different, we are a massive club and every decision is scrutinised. He's gathered together a young and very talented squad and now he has to show he can produce on the big stage. This is match is a pivotal point in his managerial career, he won't gamble on it, he'll be very calculated and make sure he gives us the very best possibility to win the game by picking his strongest line up.

Ah give over. Wasn't the biggest game of his career? You're one of many types on here that will say anything to get around an argument. You will no doubt have something to say to this but it was his biggest no.matter how ye paint it.

What?

His biggest achievements were no doubt retaining Wigans premiership status for so long with a diminishing transfer and wage budget whilst producing some fine footballing teams capable of it.

Not a lucky one off win against a superior footballing team after defeating the likes of Bournemouth, Huddesfiled and Millwall to reach a final. There should be no doubt in anyone's mind that Wigan Football Club would have taken a defeat in that final and beating Arsenal 3 days later to secure their premiership safety. Probably why he choose he's inferior keeper in truth, hoping he'd be fit for the crucial game at the Emirates to help keep them up.

Fact is I stated they were in the same Spanish youth team set up, in fact at the time it was thought Robles was ahead of Degea if he turns out half as good as him it's better than Tim Coward!

Go on, who thought Robles was ahead of De Gea?? It's just a myth, just like Robles replaced De Gea at Athelitico when he want to United.

Robles is better than Howard the Coward full stop!
It's not hard to do imo!

He will not have a quarter of a successful career as Howard has.

Howard is finished, we can all see that but the Everton manager still has him as the number one. I'd be surprised if Robles is still with us in two years, he might be reserve to the new keeper next season.
