We could do with another prolific striker who can come straight into the team if Rom gets injured or as another option in a 4-4-2. Can't see us getting top 4 otherwise.

We're 3rd top scorers, our main worry is what happens when crosses come into our box. Luckily villa never got the ball in a crossing position all match.

Of course we'd struggle without lukaku of he got injured, city have spent billions and look totally different without their best striker - every team in the prem is like that. I think we'd still crest enough to win games without him ... Kone's been quite pot don't this season. The question is would we keep the clean sheets at the other end to win the games.

As bad as our first ten fixtures were, after playing at the pit our last eleven games look like an ideal run in. A couple of quality additions in January, keep everyone fit and just a bit of luck and this could be a very good season.

I think if we're there or thereabouts come January then Martinez will roll the dice and go for it and sign a few players to give him a chance.

It's an interesting thought ATM though. We have a run coming up with a tonne of winnable games: Bournemouth, Palace, Norwich, Leicester, Newcastle and Stoke. Throw in potentially another game or two in Capital One Cup and there is some serious momentum to be had.

Top four ATM consists of Leicester, City, Arsenal and United. Leicester will fall away, City are likely champions but when they don't turn up they can be beaten by any side, Arsenal are Arsenal - They'll be great until January suffer injuries and potentially fall away. United am still yet to be sold on.

Then you have Spurs, That lot and probably Chelsea. Top 4 is open, we need to take a shot at it.

Exactly.

And because we're Everton, the mighty fuking Toffees.

Another reason for a striker is if Lukaku goes off the boil, I'd be amazed if he can keep this run going all season.
Of course a goalkeeper is a must, but who's out there that's attainable and more importantly, good enough... Butland for me has the perfect profile and could easily pick us up an extra 10-15 points if we had him behind Stones, Mori who have dealt well with the high ball into the box so far. No way Stoke will sell for less than 20 million given his age and potential though. Maybe there are other options in different leagues, usually luck of the draw with a cheap, foreign keeper (racism not intended)

IF Chelsea win the CL, (and finish, 8th say) and IF we are 4th, Uefa rules allow 5 clubs from one country now dont they?

In other words, the "situation" we faced 10 years ago wont need to be repeated?
Right, but if the RS wins the Europa League as well, we'd miss out. Wouldn't that be the most Everton thing in the world?
