Not that many at the moment another two let in on Sat!well his poor positioning obviously affects the amount of saves he can make
Or your BP goes up after the ball hits the net!I hate criticising players who obviously are trying their best but the reality is that in the premier League a team needs a keeper who can command his area with authority.
When that cross is coming over get to the thing and get it out. No second guessing.......

Stats are one thing, having a pair of eyes is another.
He's obviously going to be higher up the stats as we are, as a team, performing much better.
However, individually, he is quite obviously god-awful and a liability.

His overall positioning is reflected in the number of goals conceded and shots saved, isn't it? And if it doesn't actually affect the number of goals he concedes, then why should we care about it? Same with the starjumps and closed eyes and tackling with his feet and not commanding his area and lack of yelling at his defense -- if they don't actually cause him to concede more goals than he would otherwise, why should we care about them?
Ruddy always looks like a good goalkeeper while he watches a shot go past him and into the net. I'd rather have the guy who looks silly but stops the shot.

When you say shots some attempts on target are misleading like pee rollers or gentle lobs to save - TH had one great game v spurs away, and the rest have been stuttering performances ?We've allowed the third most shots on target so far this season.
Those stats are pretty meaningless because what they don't show is how many goals conceded that the keeper should have saved. We've conceded 15 goals in the league this season and these are the ones where Howard has been at fault:
5 goals from headers inside the 6 yard box because Howard failed to come and claim crosses. A keeper should be using the considerable advantage he has in being able to use his hands to come and claim crosses wherever possible. We concede so many goals from headers inside the 6 yard box because Howard prefers to leave crosses for his defence to deal with, but no defender will win every header.
3 goals (2 v Man U, 1 on near post v Man City) where Howard dived the wrong way, before the shot was taken, because he was trying to anticipate where the shot was going in order to make up for the fact that his reflexes are now much slower. The two against Man U he may not have saved anyway, but he made it much easier for the scorers.
2 goals against Watford that, in my opinion, he should have saved. He seemed to dive under the the ball.
Granted, other players also made errors that contributed to those goals, but no one has made as many as Howard. That's 10 out of 15 goals conceded where he should have done better. Where would we be in the league with a better keeper? At the moment, top four.

Again it has to be the quality of the shot - also City are a top top team, not just in defence they have a superior midfield!Just stating the facts.
While I don't disagree we'd do well to invest in this position, the bigger worry for me is how many shots we are allowing. Leaky defence.
How about this for a stat. Joe Hart has had to face 20 shots on target in 10 games. Howard has had to face 57 shots on target in 11 games.
Without Howard in goal we'd have probably scored more goals as well I reckon.
Well Robles distribution is miles better Doug!Without Howard in goal we'd have probably scored more goals as well I reckon.
