To be fair, I actually do not think it is intended or should be overly perceived as some form of racial attack against some who visit their ground.
Is it naive or short-sighted in how they've gone about their message? Yes. Could or should their argument have been shown differently? Certainly.
It's tactless and yes unfortunately I think some instantly will jump along the racial bandwagon (again unfortunately that's just society today!).
However, I think the point is that they feel aggrieved that 'tourist' fans are often given priority with regards to tickets, while also inflating prices.
Many of their fans feel that they cannot afford to go to the match any more, which is diluting their support. Is their truth in that? I don't know.
What they fail to address though is that it is the club who are to blame, and not their 'compatriots' in Red; for it is they who set the prices etc.
Arguably it is the same at the likes of Manure, Chelsea and Arsenal etc. While some in their ranks will be upset, most accept it helps fun the club.
They need to realise they can't have it both ways! Yet then they always needs something to moan and march over I guess...
