ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC"

He's scared of the Kopites. Rightly so too. He knows that massive adulation and death threats are differet sides of the same coin.

I read today that he's waiting for his pet dog to join him and his family in Liverpool...I'd leave it in Germany if I were him. That dog's going to be strung up from a lampost if they lose their forst three games under Klopp.

Losing the first 3 games is a distinct possibility and from Klopps perspective it's probably the best thing that could happen in the long run because it would quickly dampen expectations. Although that could quickly turn if he failed to get anything out of the following 3 games, which is also a very real possibility.

Capello has always been a top notch club manager in my opinion...

I disagree, he is a good manager but he isn't one of the very best and the decision to sack del Bosque* (who had won the league twice and the Champions League twice in four years) was nonsensical, as subsequent events demonstrated.

* and replace him with Queiroz!

interesting that older reds I know refuse to speak of Hughes in glowing terms

He wasnt a pleasant man by all accounts.

Nor exactly a shining example of professional probity. Most players in those teams did not like him I understand. Read somewhere that one of them, Tommy Smith I think, actually waited until he had died before releasing his biography; dead man cant sue.

Sure some of the older, local lads know more than me though.... @Eggs

Smith is another one who gets mixed reviews from my older red relatives etc, with Hughes it was generally just out and out insults and expletives
