ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC"

To be fair didn't a couple of our fans do this at Stoke? According to the red Echo:

If it was genuinely last minute then I see no problem with this. If the tickets were going to be taken by a genuinely disabled person then they would've done so beforehand, so what's the problem with using them? Perhaps the clubs need to consider some fold-away chairs and set a deadline for the tickets to be purchased, then open them for public sale.

The other post (which you replied to) I mentioned about them needing a local idol.

Well they dont have any and nor to they have any foreign idols...

This is why they needed Klopp as they have no players they can pin up. Even the club seems to recognise this with all the klopp merchandise.

Meanwhile over in reality we have Barkley,Stones, Lukaku as well as many others such as Deulofeu,McCarthy, Besic and of course Galloway etc coming through....more than enough players to have as poster boys.

Yes exactly mate. Klopp gives them the shortcut they need to feel important again.

Agree with every word apart from the last sentence. It's not in the least bit sad; it's poetic effing justice / karma / exactly what they deserve - and long may it continue.

I actually got into a conversation with an older couple on holiday recently - he was carrying an RS carrier bag and we got to discussing (among other things) Brenda and Klopp. My most derogatory comment was 'you don't support that lot do you?' but when I revealed I supported Everton (not obvious cos I'm not a native), the reaction of the wife was to mime pushing me and aiming a kick at me while the auld fella waved me away and uttered the single word 'Cheats!'

Yet we're the bitter ones...? They can't stand the fact that so many football fans (save for the sycophants infesting the media) detest / dismiss them. A guy with something of a messiah complex chooses to try to become the saviour of a club with a Kult-ish following? He'll get all the adulation he craves...for a while. Hope he knows what he's let himself in for....

Yes that was me being as objective and kind to them as possible. I have noticed on RAWK a few of them are copying my posts and holding me up as the archetypal "bitter" filled with hate. It couldn't be further from the truth, I just pity them.

In honesty though there fall from grace couldn't have come to a more deserving set of fans. I have no idea what the silly old bag was trying to imitate with her pushing or kicking. I can't remember the last time we did this.

Anyone impartial can now long see that they are way beyond our levels of bitter. In a recent argument with a set of them they kept resorting back to "we drew with you" "you finished 11th" "you're rubbish" and "we beat you 4-0" (two seasons ago). When I pointed out we were rubbish last season, not winning trophies is poor but that them finishing 6th is no better they just can't grasp it. They are chuffed to be above us.

They are like I was in the 90's. if we beat them or didn't lose I was genuinely chuffed. If we finished above them I'd be delighted with that too. then you grow up and realise it is cringey bitter and small time. You also realise finishing above Liverpool but below Spurs would still be poor.

They are now consumed by hate though. Not winning things over this period of time is too much for their glory hunters. Like most abusers they try and then take it out on reasonable people.

I know what's going to happen. At their next home game they're all going to line the streets shouting 'Sieg Heil' to greet the players coach as Klopp looks on with an even more anxious look on his face. Then they'll proceed to have a 'German day' when comedians like Stan Boardman will come out for a payday and Liverpool's very own comedian Robbie Fowler will spend the day in corporate doing Basil Fawlty's 'Don't mention the war' impression to the delight of the Asian and Southern visitors. Then when the FA ask them to explain their actions they'll argue that Paolo Di Canio did a Nazi salute once and why are they always getting victimised. As Klopp's worried expression now turns to panic.

I get why they appointed klopp i really do. and for them reasons he is the right man for the job, young, can control all aspects of the players, track record of buying players and developing them into better ones, work on a budget and can buy the right players etc All those reasons are fine.

But

Surely giving Ancelotti an open cheque and saying do what you want with the team would have pretty much guaranteed success? Ambition like, throw enough money at him and he would have came (ala sanchez) and back him a little and this winning the league dream may have came true quite quickly.

I'm a big fan of ancelotti, a manager who has won titles in italy/spain/france/england to name a few is a proven manager which does make it odd that liverpool didn't go for that and at least bring some success to the club.
The thing is, Ancelotti is the type of manager who comes into a quality side that is either title contenders or just missing a piece or two to be so. Liverpool are not just a piece or two away from that, to get them to that level would take a tremendous amount of work and investment. It's no surprise he knocked them back.

Ancelotti would more likely, for example, take over at Arsenal, buy a couple players, and win the league.
