he the worst player in our team, the weak link, I don't think that this has been so noticeable since players like landon donovan, or brian mcbride, we soon moved them on, I don't know what it was about these players, it's like they just didn't understand football properly, howards the same

So the search goes on. I see positives in both with some negatives. Both average at the moment. I think Martinez will move for a new keeper in the summer as the back four are becoming solid with competent backups.

We're 3 or 4 players short of having a squad that can compete at the top of the league.

We'll fall short with Howard or Robles though

I disagree with the sentiment he's one of the worst keepers in the league. But that's two games in a row where he should have claimed balls in his 6 yard box, hasn't and we've suffered accordingly. Tim's always been a good shot stopper but poor at commanding his box in the air and with shaky distribution.
He's a good top 10 keeper but we need to be looking for a keeper of top 5 or 6 quality to match the rest of the talent we have in our team. Priority alongside bringing in a playmaker and Striker next summer.
He's given the team plenty but I think we need better.

Great synopsis of anything I've heard today. We are always hurting when losing or even drawing it seems. I am happy with him at the moment with what's available to us. I believe a new face between the sticks will be coming this summer. Until then he is our #1.

Nah he's pretty solid if unspectacular. Basics well kind of guy. To be honest I'd take that.

not his biggest fan, but on balance has done ok this season,needs replacing has done for a few season now.

We should try and get one of the outstanding young German goalkeepers like Bernd Leno, Timo Horn, Loris Karius (to whom we have been linked in the past) or Ron-Robert Zieler.
