How do you prepare for a derby?

I think so, if nothing for the consistency of the clash.

I know City-United gets all the hype nowadays due to the pair being "powerhouses", but historically Liverpool and Everton haven't featured in the second tier for 70 years, in which they've consistently battled for leagues and trophies. In terms of Geography, Liverpool is far smaller than Manchester-Salford and the Greater London area, so it only intensifies the rivalries, as people only support the pair.

A lot more "issues", have arose that cause conflict, more from an Everton point of view, Bryan Hamilton, Heysel, Hutchison Collina etc... To make one side extremely angry when thinking of the others.
In terms of Liverpool, the fact that they are slowly losing their grip on being a title contending side, and the fact that the Manchester Derby has become more prominent, has seen their rivalry with United become less significant, ours again has intensified.

For me, the Merseyside Derby is like no other (old firm aside), and the others may well be enjoyable and bitter, but the so called "friendly" Derby, is no more in my opinion!

Normally go for a long drive with the windows up, listening to a CD at full blast with me phone off for a few hours... But me missus's due date is rapidly approaching so 'hopefully' might be very distracted tomorrow... So I look forward to the arrival of baby Romelu Arouna Gerard Ross Gareth James Brendan Seamus John Phil Tim on Monday morning after our 4-0 revenge on our dear neighbours!

(I Actually put Naismiths first name before Deulofeu's there originally but then realised what it wrote! He's still haunting my derbies even though he's thousands of miles away!!!)
That has been my routine for years. Usually a run out to Prestatyn, a slow stroll down the front to Rhyl then back again to white knuckle the radio.

Citalaphram and lots of king goblin ensures my naturally happy demenour is replaced with a nasty snidey side ready for the usual Red suspects to text shortly after the game.. I will then fall soundly asleep with the neighbours cats head in my arms....just the head mind. Very different story if we win though :) COYB !!!!!
