Computer games.

I'm not a massive fan of NHL to be fair. I'll watch it if it's on like

I kind of just got assigned the game lol

Looking forward to it actually. I always liked playing Hockey games since the PlayStation days

Playing one on the Saturn now actually. Serendipidous

The last few NHL games have been exceptional mate.

But still nowhere near The Show.

Ok. Anything bold is going to be kept.

I recommend you create a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet.

Put all the above components in.

Then on CPU MOBO and GPU leave blank.

As you don't need any other kit.

The excel file allows you to put prices in and URLs per supplier before ordering (e.g. Amazon/Newegg etc)

Now we firstly have to get you a decent MOBO + GPU. Plus then with around 40-50% of the budget a GPU.

The mobo needs to have multiple free PCI-e lanes that allow SLI configuration. You only need one GPU right now but you future proof by having the ability to add in another GPU later when cash is available.

Watch this space.

680Ti ? You mean 980Ti surely.

No you wouldn't as its all about bottlenecks. Running a 980Ti with a i3 or i5 processor would be a complete waste of time.

So it sounds like you want to do a new build.

List your existing equipment in full and lets take a look at what can be cannibalised for the new build. e.g. memory, HDs etc.

Whats your PSU?

Not really.

what would everyone say are the top 3 games of all time? i realise this is stupid question..ahem

Hard to say mate. People will say things like Final Fantasy but o can't stand that sort of thing and would put Sensible World of Soccer light years ahead of it!
