John Stones transfer saga

West brom and everton, the 2 clubs that have been most damming in their condemnation of the window still being open can possibly start a movement for the club's who don't have a billionaire owners getting pushed around by those that have. If stones and Berahino stay at their respective clubs in the next week it sends out a massive message to the other clubs that hey! you can hold onto your best players.

you can bully me on the internet as much as you want for thirty-forty grand a week whatever he is on. Crying!!!??? what a shame lad when I was 21 I was in the armed forces taking home about a £900 a month he needs to get a grip. This drama is going to go to the wire with no doubt leaving Everton in a crap position as usual with plenty for the media to ramble on about. Thank God last nights game was a good old fashioned cup tie that was entertaining and exciting because modern football really is starting to put me off, its sad not just being about 90 minutes on a saturday afternoon anymore.
YOU BRAVE LITTLE SOLDIER X

Can we just all put this 'crying' issue into its proper context?

This is a 21 year old lad who over the last few days has been under untold stress. You can say he brought it on himself - fine; you can say he gets paid a king's ransom - no doubt. However he's a young lad who for all his talent and financial reward will never have been mentally prepared for the stress he's now going through, played out in front of thousands of fans, and based on what I've seen of the lad he is probably agonising over what fans think of him versus what we believes he wants to do with his career.

The lad is mega stressed - classic signs - and crying on the spot like that is a sure fire indication of the extreme anxiety he is feeling, not because he's upset about being called names or whatever. Try and ringfence that perspective, and put aside the fact that he is talented, privileged, etc.

You may still feel that he should grow up - fair enough, but just understand why it probably happened.
Is right.

no not correct, if he stays it will be because the clubs couldnt agree a deal for him not because he wanted to stay. fans arent stupid so stop making out if he says this all will be forgiven

as i said before the lad wants out and has now handed his transfer request to confirm this. its lescott all over again
Um, you haven't read my posts in here on this matter have you? Lol
I've got @Elong all over me like a rash with every word I write...

Know it well

If you read my posts I point out quite clearly the issue around walking away from employment and players registrations

Then you will know that the right to unilaterally terminate a contract is subject to age and length of contract and can only be done outside the protected period.

It's a ridiculously high stakes gamble to make though.

Because while, yes, they can probably walk away as you're saying, they can't then continue their careers without the club releasing their registration - so if they did that massively against the wishes of the club, they could find themselves unable to play professional football for 4 years

I think the biggest part of the whole situation is the timing. If Stones had said on June 1st he wanted to leave, Everton probably would have reluctantly accepted it. But 6 days before the window closes is totally different.

Would a soldier be brave enough to do a paneka style penalty though?

Doubt it.

When a video comes out of one of them nailing a 30 yard screamer, then we'll get them footballers wages.

On topic: After becoming resigned to him leaving earlier in the week, think it's all but certain he stays now. Roberto has put pressure on the board by continually saying "Not for sale", I hope they back him up and don't waiver.

It is only natural for their to be an negative reaction towards stones (albeit only a handful of fans by all accounts) but if the stories of stones at the services is true, it only goes to show that to further his development the only place for him to do it would be at Everton. The lad is only 21 years old, and is understandably stressed at the moment. But can you imagine him in 2 months time playing for Chelsea in the champions league and making a mistake in an important game, the same media who have tried to engineer this move to happen, will be the first to call him a 30m flop! Not just cause it is Everton, but the best place to continue his development with us. John get rid of your agent and sign a new improved contract with us after the window has shut.

Well said. Some of the abuse and opinions by grown men regarding all this is absolutely embarrassing.

Don't care how privileged these young players are, it's massive pressure to have to go out in front of 4,000 travelling fans and risk facing dogs abuse from cretins who wouldn't be so mouthy in a one on one situation, if they weren't surrounded by their mates or hiding behind a computer screen.

Social Media brings out the worst in a fanbase as well.

Also want to add that our travelling support was magnificent yet again last night and helped the players to victory. How many clubs would take those numbers for an early round mid week game against lower league opposition.

And despite what has come out on Social Media, the vast majority of supporters at last nights game got behind the team and Stones. Showed our class last night, apart from a tiny minority who shamed the club.

I honestly don't see how we can sell after Roberto's interview last night, absent Chelsea coming in with some utterly stupid offer (David Luiz money or higher)

But the Daily Fibber are saying he is going to be a Chelski player.

here then if you're going to ignore certain posters,
Is all pressure related to money? Is that how you judge happiness? If someone has money, then absolutely everything else in their life must be absolutely tip top? Ask Robin Williams. Ask Kurt Cobain. Ask the thousands of multi millionaires who have taken their own life.

There is a sticky topic at the top of the Everton forum, perhaps you need to have a scan through there to see how peoples lives can be affected by many more things than just money
I stopped reading after the first letter, I refuse to read posts that don't start with an upper case letter.
